Chapter 28

454 Words
Unknown POV He stared at the glowing screen, thumbs flying as he composed the next message to Julia. Each word was laced with venom and longing, a twisted mixture of rage and desire. He couldn’t believe she’d chosen Ethan, couldn’t believe she’d shut him out so completely. The texts became his outlet, his only way to make her feel his presence, to remind her that he was always near. “You can’t hide from me, Julia,” he wrote in the first message, the words almost shaking on the screen. “I know where you go, who you see, what you do when you think no one’s watching. One day soon, it’ll just be you and me. No more interruptions.” He hit send, picturing her fear, savoring the thought of her reading his words. He sent another, this time more personal, more invasive. “I see the way you look at him—but you’ll never be his the way you’re meant for me. Do you think he knows what you really want? He could never satisfy you. I could show you what you’re missing… if you’d just let me.” The message hovered between threat and fantasy, a cruel taunt designed to unsettle her. His anger grew as he typed, each message more desperate, more forceful. “You belong with me, Julia. I can take you away from all this—keep you safe, keep you close. It would only take a moment, and no one would ever find you.” He imagined her reading the words, imagined the chill that must creep up her spine. Another message followed, this one a warning: “If you keep pushing me away, I can’t be held responsible for what happens next. You’ve been warned, Julia. Don’t make me come and get you.” The implication hung heavy, a darkness even he reveled in. He couldn’t help but lace his words with twisted affection. “You think you’re scared now, but you’d love how it feels to be mine—really mine. I’d take care of you, make you feel things he never could. You think you know passion? You haven’t even tasted it yet.” He watched the screen, waiting for a response that never came. With every unanswered message, his agitation grew, but so did his determination. “Soon, Julia,” he whispered to his empty room, “you’ll see. You’ll have no choice but to understand how much you need me.” His final message for the night was simple, but chilling: “Sleep well. I’ll be seeing you sooner than you think.” Satisfied for now, he put the phone down, already planning how he would make his threats a reality.
