Witch Doctor!? Dorothy stared in horror, thinking she had misheard his words but judging from his stoic expression, he didn't seem like he was the kind to joke. She watched as Lucas walked in with the elderly woman from earlier by his side, her eyes were narrowed at Dorothy and her stare made Dorothy move back in slight fear. Dorothy didn't know much about witch doctors but she knew they were different from pack diviners like Agnes. Witch doctors practiced dark magic, worshiping unknown gods while the pack diviners worshiped the Moon goddess, getting prophecies and visions from her. Agnes had warned her to stay away from them. She had told Dorothy that they killed people and offered their bodies to their gods as sacrifices. Agnes told her that witch doctors carried bad luck on them, and they were extremely cunning and that she should run whenever she came across one. Now why the hell was there a witch doctor advancing towards her. Dorothy swallowed and Ace moved away, allowing the witch doctor to move closer to her. She slowly backed away and before anyone in the room could react, Dorothy bolted to the door, making a run for her life. Everyone stared in surprise at her sudden reaction and they watched as Dorothy opened the door, attempting to leave the room. But before she could make it outside, a calloused hand circled her wrist and she was yanked back. Her body collided with a hard chest and she looked up to see Ace’s unimpressed expression as he held her against him. “Where do you think you are going?” Ace asked with slight anger. He wanted nothing more than for her to disappear from his sight but he didn't have a choice. He couldn't reject her and she couldn't reject him, making them have this unfortunate bond. If he had a choice, he would have killed her with just a flick of his fingers but he knew the repercussions it would have on Damien if he acted rashly so that was why he just wanted to break the bond with the help of the witch doctor but this woman was already making it difficult before he had even started anything. Dorothy was breathing heavily as she pointed to the witch doctor who stood and watched silently. “That is a witch doctor” Dorothy whispered and Ace sighed, letting go of her hands. “And?” And? Her eyes widened and she backed away from him. Did he want the witch doctor to kill her and then sacrifice her body? Ace ran his hand through his hair in frustration, maybe it was the fact that she was his mate but this was the first time in many years someone was able to rile him up, get an emotion out of him even if it wasn't a good one. Lucas and Sofia looked at each other from across the room as they watched Ace and Dorothy interaction and without Ace realizing, they had shared a knowing glance with a slight smile. “Please don't kill me” Dorothy suddenly clasped her hands together, “I will leave and you will never see me so don't let the witch doctor kill me”. Ace leaned down to her eye level and glared at her, he was really annoyed now. “Do you think if I wanted to kill you, I would bring someone else to do it. I could end your petty little life with just a flick of my fingers and trust me you wouldn't even see it coming before you draw your last breath” That was the most Ace had said to her in one sentence and Dorothy’s mouth opened in shock but she was roughly held by Ace again and dragged to the bed. He threw her on the bed like she weighed nothing, he then turned to Lyra, the witch doctor, crossing his arms together which made his muscles bulge, showcasing more of his tattoos. “Take a look at her”. Lyra nodded and brought her bony hands to Dorothy’s head, making her flinch back. “I won't hurt you, dear” Dorothy saw the small smile on Lyra's face and she looked at Sofia, she didn't know why but Sofia was the only one who she seemed to trust. Sofia nodded with a smile, “She won't hurt you, she will just check something”. Dorothy relaxed a bit and she felt bad that she might have overrated. She didn't dare glance up at Ace as she let Lyra lean closer, allowing Lyra’s hand on her forehead. The moment Lyra touched her, she suddenly felt a rush of energy rush into her by the contact, she didn't feel pain but she felt discomfort as the energy surged through her veins invoking a whimper from Alya. Lyra removed her hand away from Dorothy after a while before looking at Ace. “Fate does not lie, Alpha. She is your mate.” Ace frown deepened and the air in the air thickens with tension “You think I don't know that? Why do you think I called you here, I want you to find a solution to this” He pointed to Dorothy and she quickly kept her head down as his words cut through her like a knife “I don't want her as my mate and we can't seem to reject each other so now tell me what I should do instead of saying what I already know” . Lyra’s wrinkles were visible as she smiled knowingly, she didn't seem fazed as the powerful Alpha gazed at her with murderous intent.“Even I don't have the power to break what the Moon goddess has joined together. I can't do anything about this, Alpha”. Ace’s eyes flashed in anger at the mention of the Moon goddess and he stalked towards Lyra,“I do not want to hear the mention of that name” He growled and his eyes turned silver. Dorothy bit her bottom lip to stop herself from crying. Why her? Was she that much of a mistake, was it that bad that she was his mate. “I will only have one mate in this lifetime and I don't care if someone decides to join us together or not but I will never accept her so do whatever you can to break this bond or else I will have your head, do you understand my words?” “Yes, Alpha. I understand, I will see what I can do” Lyra replied with a nod. Dorothy finally raised her head to look at Ace and tears fell from her eyes. She quickly wiped it off and Ace frown deepened, taking his gaze away from her. “Do not disappoint me” He growled a warning to Lyra before walking away without looking back for a second. Lucas frowned and followed, leaving Sofia and Lyra with Dorothy. Sofia wanted to say something to comfort Dorothy but Lyra had spoken up before her. “Please can I talk to the girl alone”. Dorothy's eyes widened and she shook her head to Sofia, indicating she doesn't want to be left alone with Lyra. Sofia was in a dilemma but she trusted Lyra and she left, she placed her hand on Dorothy’s shoulder. “I will be right outside the door, don't worry”. Dorothy sighed and nodded her head, the moment Sofia left, Dorothy glanced at Lyra who had her eyes on her. “I've heard so much about you, Dorothy," she said, her voice smooth, a warm smile playing on her lips. "Shall we have a little... chat
