Alex's pov She drags me to a huge tent that Will had told me was not part of the market stalls and drags me in. Inside is broken into sectors according to the map at the entrance. She drags me over to the first section tCliffhanign written in red paint 'Mirror Dance Party' ' This looks fun. ' I say ' Oh it is. You have to copy your reflections moves to the beat of the music or you'll get the shock of your lifetime! ' she said giddily ' You're strange. Wait did you say we had to copy our reflection?' I said as we walked into the mirror-filled room and music started playing. The little girl immediately started dancing fully focusing on her reflection. I was about to laugh when I felt a jolt of electricity flow through my body. What just happened. Then it happens again and again. I look at the little girl who is still dancing, very badly too but confused. How does she resist the shock? She turns and sees me on the ground and looks back at her reflection. Just when I'm feeling like this is a setup I hear her voice. ' You need to copy your reflections moves or you'll get the shock of a lifetime remember?' ' You didn't tell me I would get shocked by electricity.' ' What else can you get shocked by dummy? You rich kids are wierd. Now stand up or you won't get any points and I don't plan to share my tickets.' I tried to copy my reflection but genuinely speaking it got worse. I don't know how she managed to keep up. By the time the song was over I had probably been shocked enough times to charge 20 phones! Just when I want to take a break the girl drags me along again. ' I don't think I want to play any of these games anymore.' I say ' Oh come on, you only played one.' ' I was practically electrocuted. That game should be illegal.' ' Alright, I promise the next game won't have any shocks.' ' I don't know-' ' Hey isn't that your babysitter?' ' Will isn't my babysitter he's-' ' Standing over there.' she said pointing at a not-so-happy Will. ' Oh no. I need to hide.' I said panicking. ' Quick this way.' By the time I knew what was happening we were playing a game of "hook the goose'. I used to be afraid of the palace griffin but goose are scary, just try hooking them and realize what wild animals are called wild animals for. We spent the next 30 minutes dodging and hiding from Will while playing games that could kill me with the strange girl. Although I could have sworn that I saw the girl in more than one place at once. *25 minutes later* We were now standing at the takes at the edge of the cliff talking. ' But sweet treat was fun.' the girl says ' Those treats were drugged. You thought I was a unicorn.' I say ' Well u can't say u didn't like the barrel gauntlet.' ' Running on spinning barrels while dodging swinging flaming hammers for tickets. I'm supposed to like that?' ' Well at least you could let out all your screams.' she says with a massive grin while stuffing her face with a double sausage. ' I guess I could.' I say laughing as I look at the little girl. I know for a fact that there's no way she's 16 probably just said that to feel older. Nonetheless her laughter is contagious. I'm thinking about how simple her life must be just hustling for food and having fun. No bodyguards around you, no father trying to mold you to be perfect, no pressure from anyone. Just living your life while eating and having fun while doing it. ' Hey! Are you listening to me?' her voice rings out drawing me back. ' What?' ' What's up? You zoned out.' ' Oh I was just... Um wondering where ... you kept all the stuff you stole.' I say She suddenly narrowed her eyes and looked over the rails. 'You already payed the merchants so there's no need to return them.' ' I just wanna know where u hid them.' ' You don't need to. They're mine now.' I immediately burst out laughing. I bought this girl dinner did she think I was going to steal a couple of tomatoes. When I looked back at her she had a confused expression on her face that suddenly changed like she was studying something. ' You rich people are strange.' ' I'm not just rich I'm the prince.' I emphasize. ' Right. And I totally believe that.... Not' ' Why don't you believe I'm a prince?' I ask confused ' Is it the clothes?' ' Nope. It's the story.' ' What story?' ' Your story! Would a prince have to sneak out of his house, and if so what are u doing in the local midnight market?' she said ' Ummm...' ' Exactly my point. Am I suppose to believe you just like buying local thieves dinner while pretending you aren't the prince? ' ' I...' ' See. At this point even you wouldn't believe that you're the prince.' The girl had a point. I wouldn't be able to convince anyone who didn't know me. Then I noticed something. ' Hey where did you get those earrings?' ' What?' ' Your earrings they look expensive for a thief.' ' What's that suppose to mean I can't steal earrings?' ' Well they're on the ears so...' She looked me up and down like I was an i***t, again then crossed her hands. ' I'll have you know I'm an expert thief. I steal better than most grown ups.' ' I have never seen someone so proud of stealing.' ' Why shouldn't I be proud of what keeps me alive. It's stupid to be ashamed of what puts food in your tummy.' ' Well if you're such a good thief then why did you get caught by my bodyguard?' I ask just to get her angry. And it works. ' That was an accident and besides you were in the way.' ' Sounds like an excuse.' ' Whatever. It doesn't matter cuz I wanted to get caught.' ' You... wanted to get caught?' I ask again to be sure as my head reloads. ' Yes.' I wait for an explanation that she doesn't give and frown. ' How?' ' You idiot.' she says and rolls her eyes ' Didn't I tell you I was hungry? I wanted to get to the other side of the market where food was sold. The merchants would then tie me up and throw food at me.' ' That's humiliation.' ' No it's free dinner. And they still wouldn't get there stuff back but I would leave with a full tummy.' she said smiling happily. ' That's why I wasn't running too fast and took easy and straight roads; so they could follow me. While I was looking back to make sure they were still following I didn't see you and got caught. So you can see this is your fault.' she said crossing her arms. I look at the little girl who planned to turn failure to feast as she munched on her 28th hot dog. I smiled at the simplicity of her life. Her problems didn't go past what to eat. I'd kill for a life that simple. ' Why do you keep staring at me like that?' she suddenly said ' Like what?' i say ' Like that.' she says pointing at my face ' like I'm some kitten or something.'she says with something ( I'm not sure of anymore) in her mouth. ' Cuz u look like one silly.' ' You take that back.' she said giving me a death flair. And I started laughing again. If an adorable hamster eating could turn into a 12 yr old girl with stuffed cheeks and food stains on her face while narrowing there eyes then you can get what I was looking at. When I looked at her she tilted her head and looked at me like a she was studying something again except with a smile on her face. ' What now you're looking at me?' I ask ' You should smile more often.' I hear her say ' What?' ' You should smile more often. Your eyes twinkle when you do.' I paused to understand the meaning of what she just said and looked at the little girl infront of me. ' Are you using rizz lines on me?' I ask ' What's rizz?' she asks back Yep there's no way she's above 11. ' Oh and I have a confession to make.' she said ' I lied about my age.' she said pouting slightly That was obvious. ' I'm actually 14.' ' NO WAY!' I ended up yelling louder than intended. ' Believe what you want.' she said looking away ' I don't have the energy to explain myself.' I believed her. By what I'd checked out she never takes out the time to explain herself. Especially when she was saying the truth. Well...as far as I've checked out. ' Alright let's go before your babysitter starts looking for you.' ' Will isn't my babysitter he's my personal bodyguard! I don't know why you can't believe me.' ' Hmmm. He's like your parents eyes and ears?' ' Yeah. A bodyguard.' ' He has to protect or else he'll be in trouble with your parents, right?' ' Yes.' ' He has to follow you around and make sure you don't get in trouble?' ' I guess so.' ' You can't leave the house without him?' ' Well...' ' Yes or no Princey' ' Yes I guess.' I finally answer. ' Then that's just sad you have a babysitter and don't even know it.' ' I ...' I wanted to argue but I had to admit she had a good point. Will was my babysitter! And I never even noticed. I wonder if he did. We turn to start going when the girl suddenly pauses. ' Alex, get down.' ' What?' ' We're being followed.' ' It's probably Will.' I say but she shakes her head. ' No it's not him.' ' How can you tell?' ' I can't sense Will's presence.' ' Yeah neither can I...' I suddenly pause to realize what she just said. ' Wait did you just say you can't sense his pr-' BOOM!!! I'm caught mid-sentence when the girl pushes me and I see a bullet fly past her. And exactly where I was standing! If I had been standing there that would have gone right through my shoulder. I think I'm safe but I lose balance and fall of the rail and down the steep slope. Bushes, shrubs, thorns, mud I'm covered in all of it and probably have a bit in my mouth as I get bruised while falling. I get to an edge and hold on to stop myself. I take a deep breath and spit out all that's in my mouth and look down at the forest below and up a the market I fell from then I let go so I can fly up. Big mistake. I continue falling this time falling onto trees and branches then finally nearly falling of the slope like cliff I grab onto a root like a lifeline. I don't dare let go again because unlike last time I can't see anything below me and for fear that my magic might not work. I want to struggle to climb up but I'm too injured and weak, and the cliff is too steep even if I wasn't dangling it would be like trying to climb up a slanting hill. In other words I was done for. I was way too low to hope for help. Will couldn't find me and I couldn't use my magic. Well at least my last day was at a place where I got to experience life and enjoy it even if it was just a night. I prayed a silent prayer hoping to the fairies that if I were to come back it should be as a normal street boy. I closed my eyes waiting for the root when I heard a voice call out ' ALEX!' ...
