Chapter Twelve: Running away

TONY’S POV~ I must confess, my encounter with the Alpha king was the beginning of the worst experiences in my Pack life. When I was standing with Neema, kissing right behind the king’s throne, an information came in that our territory was ambushed by the savages of the Black Moon Pack. And the information was brought in by Sophia of all Omegas, and she some kind of caught Neema and I just holding each other. A few moments later we received the information that Fatuma was missing from the hotel we left her and that created a great fear for her and I immediately needed to go and find her. I apologized to Sophia, but she rejected my apology right away, but there was no time to protest for it. When the king made us depart, I was too crazy to make things straight. I failed to decide who to follow and what to do! The king told us that he would be coming with the Special Forces, so we had to go and fight the enemy. Fortunately, Neema was sent to hide other girls and hide herself since she was not a fighter. So the first thing I did when I got out of the palace was run to Aunt Mariam. She was dressed like a soldier and looked very dangerous in the faint light of the night. She had weapons too like other Pack soldiers and she looked very ready to battle. “Where is Fatuma?!” I asked her as soon I reached to her, although I knew exactly that she knew nothing on her whereabouts! “She is missing!” Aunt Mariam answered me, trying to rise her voice so as it could pass over the sound of the commotion and ruckus of the soldiers around us who were running here and there, collecting their weapons and getting ready. “Where did you look for her?” I asked. “Moshi Hotel,” she said, “I went there this morning and was told that she fled and took a taxi right outside the hotel. I followed the tracks and found out she entered in this forest.” “Oh my God!” I cried. I was really dizzy now! My girlfriend was captured. The whole army of the Black Moon Pack was after me! I was framed. Sophia was angry with me! I was a piece of sheet! I was a total motherpacker! “Yaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!” I let out a very loud scream which turned into a roar! I was messing up the things and now I was in a total dangerous moment. When I screamed, the soldiers stopped running and looked at me. Seeing I was okay, they ran on, towards the Pack boulder! “Tony!” Aunt Mariam gripped my shoulders so hard that she nearly broke them, “Calm down. Just calm down and damn think of what to do right now! You have a lot of tasks to do and you need to do one!” “What?!” I asked, confused. “You have to fight the barbarians,” she explained, “you have to find Fatuma, my niece, you have to save yourself!” She forgot one. And I had to say it myself. “I have to apologize to Sophia!” I said. “WHAT?!” She screamed. I didn’t answer. I turned around and ran with the soldiers. I had to find Sophia and tell her I was really sorry. I had the thought that all this was happening because I did something brutal to her: I just hurt her heart! I had to fix that. But also, I had to save Fatuma! I ran with the soldiers who were collecting their weapons and shouting, but seemed to get nowhere. The soldiers were running almost in every direction. So what I did, I decided to stop some of them and asked them urgently where their trainer, Sophia was. Luckily, they pointed to the same direction and I had to follow where they pointed. Sophia was not far from the place I was standing with Aunt Mariam. I found her very busy directing the soldiers as they reported to her with the weapons. She barked orders and waved her hands frantically, so I had to use the other way which would attract her attention. I reached to her and called her name loudly, but she ignored me. I knew she heard me but she ignored me. So I did another thing: I caught her arms forcefully and locked them in mine behind her and pushed her away from the platform she was standing on. She had no chance to fight because I took her by surprise, and what she did was just scream a curse and drop down with me. “Are you insane?!” She screamed, “I am giving orders! Just let me go!” “Sophia,” I said, also screaming, “Look, I know today I must die!” With that, she turned around suddenly, freeing her arms and looked at me very angrily. “Aha!” She said, “Because you deserve it! You brought us into this mess!” I was struck by that. I had really caused the problems to various people, and now I was causing the mighty trouble in my own Pack. All this because I was the son of the Alpha and I had a human girlfriend. “You are right!” I said, “I brought you guys into this! That is why I came to apologize.” “Apologize?” Sophia asked in confusion. “Yeah,” I said, feeling really bad inside, I was about to lose everything I had, “apologize. I’m sorry guys. I’m sorry Sophia for whatever I did.” My voice started to hurt my throat, like I was about to cry, “I did not intend to do anything that you saw. I came in the Pack and left the girl in the hotel, but I never happened to love her as much as I love you. Then suddenly, that weird princess stole me!” Sophia’s eyes widened as she looked at me. She no longer looked angry now. She looked more contented. “You changed my life,” I continued, having no idea what I meant, “you taught me skills. You made me control myself. You are the most beautiful Luna I have ever seen!” She opened her mouth like she wanted to interrupt me but shut it again. Now I could see tears flowing from her eyes. “Sophia, I’m sorry,” I said softly, feeling really sad inside, “you really deserve better things. I can’t continue hurting you. I must pay for whatever I did. I am going to the human world.” I felt dumb and I was out of words. I knew I spoke the most irrelevant words, but I had to. After I said that to her, I turned around and ran as fast as I could out of the place, so as I could run away from the White Moon Pack, away from the forest, away from the wolf world and away from both worlds! I was tired of this and I needed to be somewhere else which I had no idea where! “Tony!” Sophia called after me when left. But I had no reason to stop for her. I didn’t want to ruin any more things. I had ruined her expectations and she was sad and furious because of me. Neema also believed I was in love with her, so wherever she was, she believed I was in love with her, which was wrong. Fatuma came in the forest to find me, but she was captured by the savages and she was in more danger and probably dead! I cried as I ran. I thought of the human world which I totally messed up. There I killed my own friend non-intentionally, I killed the soldiers and I was a criminal there. And here, I messed up the place. All this was happening because of my existence. If I was not there, my friends would live on happily, Fatuma could be safely in Dar Es Salaam and Aunt Mariam couldn’t had left the Pack. Sophia could continue being a famous trainer and maybe one day she would get her love of her life. I loved Sophia, but the love I had for Fatuma was different. I loved both of them just in two different ways. But I lost them both and I didn’t deserve one of them. I felt meaningless and I thought of dying. I ran forward, having no idea where I was heading to. The darkness now was really thick and I almost hit the trees. I ran and run. All I heard was my own heavy breaths and the wind in my ears. I ran in a wolf speed towards nowhere. I had no time to think of something beneficial. All I wanted was to get rid of myself! I was far from the Pack now and I was alone running. I ran and ran. Suddenly, I tripped over something like a little tree stump and fell down. When I fell down, the ground was very soft! Oh wait! It was not a ground! It was a hole! The hole was covered by crawling dried plants as a booby trap and when I fell over it, the crawling plants that hang over the mouth of the hole caught me, otherwise I would have fallen long way down the hole! However, the crawling plants were dried and they somehow did not bear my weight. They began to break and break, until only three supported me, and if I moved, I would had made my death happen sooner. I sighed and stayed still. I knew where this was going. I knew I was about to die. From the darkness of the hole and the narrowness, I could feel its depth! I knew at the bottom of the hole were snakes and some other dangerous creatures which would kill me immediately. I didn’t beg for help. I knew even when someone appeared there, I wouldn’t be able to save myself. “Well, well, well!!” A rough male voice boomed over me. I looked up and it was a man in very tattered clothes with a long spear in his hands. I didn’t see his face, but the horns on his head were pretty visible. He had little short horns which made him look like a devil emoji from the phone. I sighed again. I knew from the first look that this man was not good. He smelled like a wolf, but his smell differed from the wolves of the Black Moon Pack, and he was not from the White Moon Pack because I knew their smell. This one smelled different. He was some other evil wolf. “A warrior from some Pack caught in my trap!” The man said, approaching the hole, “How delicious!” “You eat wolves?!” I asked. That is all I could get in my mind. “Yes I do,” he said calmly, “and my Chalibar are hungry too!” “Chalibar?!” I cried, “Where are they?!” “Below you.” He said, “In the hole!” When he said that, it is when I heard what was inside the hole. I heard roars and hisses deep down the hole, which would take me three full minutes to fall down the hole and get devoured by the Chalibar. This man was a monster. He would kill me. “Can you help me?” I asked, sweat burning my face. “Oh,” he said, “so you want to be baked by me, and not my Chalibar? It is fine! I can keep you for breakfast, since I have eaten three wolves tonight!” Not good! “Ok,” I said, “get me out and keep me for breakfast. You are so friendly!” The man stretched his spear and I held it firmly. Then he pulled it up and I was out of the hole. I sighed and looked around. Then I looked at the man. Now I could see his face. It was really scary with full of hairs. I could not define him as a human or a wolf. He truly had horns which made him look hideous. His clothes were really wild and he was hairy! “What is your name?” The hideous man asked fiercely. “Prince Tony,” I said, “the Prince of the White Moon Pack and the coming Alpha King.” I tried to explain my identity so as he let me life for more time because of my royal status. “Hmmm!” The man hummed, “The prince!” I nodded. “So my breakfast will be royal!” He said, “Because the White Moon killed my two sons and I have huge plan of revenge on them! So I shall start with YOU!” He grabbed me before I could make a move. I summoned my training skills, but they were powerless in the hands of this guy. I squirmed and grunted, but the man held me so tightly that I was helpless. He carried me on his shoulder and walked with me for some paces and reached to the huge tree which was painted different colors on the stem. I knew those colors. They were blood of the wolves. I was to be killed there too. The hideous man stamped down three times and suddenly, a huge fire lit up from the ground. The fire was very huge and very hot. I knew what he wanted to do. He wanted to bake me. The fire was very close to the tree and I knew whatever he wanted to bake, he put it on that tree stem to burn slowly. He took me to the stem and pressed me on it, the fire burning my face. He took out a knife and rose it so as to impale me with it on the chest so as I hang of the stem until I was ready to eat. When he was about to strike, a little fiery spark flew from the fire and landed on his back, so he turned around and tried to shake the spark off, still his other hand holding me against the stem. After he removed it, he turned again and raised his knife. I knew no sparks would interrupt him now. I knew I was about to die. I was going to die in three seconds. I screamed. I closed my eyes. The tip of the knife was about to reach my chest when suddenly: “Tonyyy!!!” A high female voice called from very far with the echoes following it. The man heard it too so he turned around suddenly. “Huh?!” The man said happily, thinking on burning two people for breakfast and how fun it would be. But I recognized the voice. It was Sophia’s! I screamed even louder, not saying exact words. I tried to get off the man’s grip but he was as powerful as an iron bar! She must had heard my voice, because she called even louder. “Tony!!!” “Sophiaaa!!!” I called on the top of my voice. “Where are you?!!” She asked. “Over here!” I called back, “At the fire! With this man wanting to kill me! Don’t come here, he will kill you!” “Oh! Ho! Ho! Hooo!” The man laughed mockingly, “Lovebirds huh?! How delicious. I will eat you together!” “f**k you!” I cursed! This man was evil and all I needed was seeing Sophia and getting away from there together. I used all my wolf and human power to push away his hand which pinned my belly and he staggered back. I had no weapon to fight with so I decided to run away and not wait to be killed for real by this hideous man! When I started running, the man trapped me with his foot so I tripped over and fell down again. I rolled over and stood up instantly, but as soon as I got up, I was caught on the throat by the man. He roared and snarled, his fangs growing longer. His eyes were monstrous. He brought out his knife so as to s*******r me. His knife touched my throat skin as I was not breathing because of his grip. He totally squeezed my windpipe and his knife now was about to sink in my throat when suddenly he groaned and let me drop on the ground. I gasped for air and choked. I almost died in his grip. Blue blood flowed from my neck because of the scar caused by the man’s knife. I turned up and looked who interrupted his killing. It was Sophia who struck his back with her spear and made him stop slaughtering me and turning to her. The man also got his spear so the two now began fighting with spears. Sophia was a very good fighter I knew but to this man, she was not so much. The man’s spear was larger than Sophia’s. The man fought furiously and threw Sophia down. She was helpless down there and if the man struck his spear, Sophia and I would be his breakfasts the next day. I didn’t want Sophia to die. The man brought out his spear, down to Sophia’s chest, but I had already recovered. I stood up immediately and raced to the side of the two fighting people, and when the spear was about to reach Sophia’s throat, I used all my super-human-wolf power and jumped forward, pushing the spear away from her throat and away from the man’s hands, and in the next second, the man was disarmed and Sophia was still alive, and I had the man’s spear! Sophia and I ran in the forest, the large fire burning behind us as we left the man burning in it. After I disarmed him, we both attacked him and tied his hands. We slaughtered him and cut him into small pieces, and threw his pieces in his fire, then spread his fire all over the place, and now that part of the forest was burning! Sophia and I ran hand in hand, holding each other’s hand firmly and the spears on our others hands. We ran for a very long distance without stopping, without talking, without letting go of our hands and without knowing where we were going! No one got tired until the late morning of the next day. Verily, the previous night was really long! Our speed decreased and decreased from running to walking to trudging. Then we came to a stop. We stopped beside a little bush near the small clearing which was the first one for me to see in the forest. We were both breathing heavily, sweaty, exhausted and very hungry. “You have any food?” Sophia asked weakly as she leaned against a tree. “No,” I said, “didn’t bring some.” “Ok,” said Sophia, “I must go hunting. Stay here, will you.” She stood up weakly and began going. “Wait,” I called and she stopped walking and turned to me, “let’s go together. I can’t let you go alone.” “Can you hunt?” She asked. “Sure,” I said, standing up, “what are we hunting?” “You can’t!” She said, “But let’s go.” We got two rabbits, one wild black chicken and a canary. Sophia made a fire and we baked our meals. I found a little spring where we got our water which was cold, fresh and very refreshing. We ate greedily as if in competition and later when we were satisfied, we ate slowly and friendlily. When we finished eating, Sophia sat beside me and I knew what she wanted. She wanted a nap. “Sophia,” I called softly as she sat beside me, looking really exhausted, “You want to sleep, right?” “Yes,” She said also softly, “I want to take a little nap. Can you give me a little space and adjust further aside?” “No,” I said, “just use my lap.” She did not ask a question then. She let her head drop on my lap and she fell asleep immediately. I put my hand on her shoulder and felt something which made me regret all my previous decisions. I felt compassion, pity and extreme love. So it turns out, what I was telling her before I ran away was meant to be told to her. I wondered what she was thinking, or dreaming. I wondered why she decided to come after me and save my life. I wondered what was happening in the Pack, if the Black Moon Pack had raided already and taken over. I wondered where Aunt Mariam was. And I wondered what happened to Fatuma. And I fell asleep! I lay my head in Sophia’s shoulders and felt very comfortable. I slept deeply and felt peaceful with the morning sun shining on both of us and blessing with the warm light which contained hope and very extreme love between us!
