Chapter Ten: THE HARD NEWS

3934 Words
TONY’S POV~ I had never felt heart-broken before as much as I felt when Sophia found me having s*x with the princess, her slave mistress. What the princess wanted was me being her mate, so as she could be my Luna when I became an Alpha. The day when Sophia found me, she ran away on her big wolf and I never saw her again. She sped and did not even turn to look back. I was so worried about her and felt the strong urge of running after her. I was about to start running when the princess stopped me and pleaded me to stay with her. I was so angry with the princess that I felt like killing her. I almost ripped her head off but I was stopped by some soldiers who were around, and who actually were my friends and didn’t want me to get into trouble. The princess was the king’s daughter. So I ran away too. I ran deep in the forest, avoiding anybody in the pack. I ran for many hours until I smelled no more wolves, and I was free to sit and think of what was happening to me. I sat down on the dried leaves of the forest and I felt very uneasy because of sorrow, anger and sadness. I put my head in my hands and uncontrollably I began to cry. I remembered once I read a book which stated that when you wanted to cry, just let it out. Holding it inside is dangerous to your health and personality. You can commit the worst actions just to make yourself feel better from the tears inside. But letting the tears out makes someone free. I cried for a long time and tears flowed from my eyes. But suddenly, I looked up! I was crying! Why was I crying? The reason was obvious. I looked around me. There were only trees and overgrown plants. I was alone. I felt very ashamed for what I was doing. Or because I let out all the tears inside me. I stood up. I sniffed the air, making sure there was no wolf after me. There was not. “I must not cry!” I told myself, “This Princess Neema must pay for what she did! She must pay for making me lose Sophia!” I felt stronger now and I felt a very strong sense of revenge! I wanted to make the princess regret for what she made me do! I walked back to my camp, back to the pack. I walked slowly, thinking on the best punishment I could give the evil princess. When I reached at the camp, it was already night. When I reached there, I found a lot of wolf soldiers outside their houses and halls standing in large groups talking loudly. They had no spears or swords, but their faces were painted white. They looked pretty wild. The first thing that came into my mind was they were outside in groups preparing themselves to search for me and bring me back to the camp, because I ran away from the camp for a while. But when I saw their white-painted faces, I understood. Sophia had explained to me that when it was the night of the crescent moon, the soldiers and all the warriors in the pack would disarm themselves and act friendly to each other until the morning of the next day. And I remembered that today was the crescent moon. I reached at my training house and it was also surrounded by soldiers. When they saw me, they smiled and waved their hands friendlily. I had never seen soldiers in such a friendly way. Someone would say they were some friendly witches (because of the white paint), and not dangerous White Moon Pack wolves. “Prince Tony!” One soldier called me from the group, “Why the long face?” I tried to smile. I smiled but I am sure it looked like more like a snarl than a smile. “I’m fine.” I said. “The Alpha’s soldiers were here,” another soldier said, “they were looking for you.” My smile faded. I shook my head hardly so as I couldn’t think why they were looking for me. But I knew it was a punishment for what I was accused to do. I entered in my room and in there I found two soldiers in the attire of the soldiers from the palace of the Alpha. They were standing beside my bed, holding their spears firmly and ready to arrest. The also had their faces painted white, but they still looked elegant in their uniform. I felt a bit of shame: my room was special but the people from the palace could get in and succeed to ruin my day. I remembered how I found the princess in my room and how she led me to doing something I was still regretting. And now the soldiers were here too, probably to arrest me. “Are you here to arrest me?” I asked, waiting for them to arrest me. “No, my Prince,” said one soldier, “but today you have to go and see the King. He has been waiting for you all day.” “What?!” I asked in confusion. “Today you finished your primary trainings, my Prince,” the other soldier said, “please come with us. The King needs to give you some instructions.” I had heard this before. I had heard that when I finished my primary trainings, the King would give me some other instructions, or some work to do. And I was a prince, so it was most likely. So I set in my mind that I was not going to receive any punishments, but I was going for something better. So I tried as hard as I could to shrug the girls out of my head and focus on thinking about the king’s call. “Ok, let’s go.” I told the soldiers and led the way out. “No,” one soldier said, “wait. Today is Mwandamo. You have to paint your face.” “Oh!” I said, “What is Mwandamo?” “The first night of the crescent moon.” The other soldier answered, “And up to now, my Prince, you are the only one who hasn’t your face powdered.” “Wow!” I said, “That’s powder?” “Yeah,” said the soldier, “clay powder.” Then the soldiers gave me the small bowls full of wet white clay. It was disgusting and yet weird. But I had to wear that kind of make-up, because I was one of the tribe now. And it was disgusting, but awkward to be unpainted alone. So I dipped my hands in the clay bowls and painted my face. It felt super sticky, but as soon as I put it on, that is when I became a TOTAL werewolf from the White Moon Pack. I felt it! Previously, before the crescent, I had received a couple of trainings and made a lot of friends, and even made love with the princess, but all that time I regarded myself as a person in the wrong place. I knew I was a wolf, but put in my mind that one day this would be over and I would return back to the human world and live a regular life there. I took all my friends in the Pack as my temporary friends and not permanent. Until when I painted my face with white clay. My senses grew stronger. I felt more natural and ready. I was now a wolf from the pack, permanently and forever! We reached at the palace which I hadn’t reached again since the day I arrived in the Pack. I hadn’t reached there because I hadn’t enough time and the trainings forbade me to go there lest I was told so. “THE PRINCE IS HERE!” A soldier howled very loudly, his voice passed all the noises around the palace. When he shouted that warning, all the soldiers and the maids and slaves stepped aside and made a way for the Mighty Prince, me! For the first time, I felt proud of it. It was not normal. The soldiers and other wolf people at the palace stood on either sides of the court hall, ready to welcome me. They all painted their faces white and looked like me on the face. The soldiers had no weapons, but had on their soldiery clothes. Whenever I reached in front of soldiers, they quickly made a curtsy and knelt down on one knee and got up as soon as I passed by. The two soldiers that I came with were right behind me, enjoying the way their colleagues were giving mighty respect to me. The way I was welcomed in the palace erased all my fears and doubts about what I was accused to do. So I cheered myself. “Prince Tony!” King Juma’s voice boomed from his throne. His throne was on the far side of the court hall and he stood in front of it, waiting. He had his sword in his hand and his spear in the other. I wondered to see him that way, because in the day of Mwandamo, people, or wolves in the pack were not allowed to hold weapons. It was a peaceful day. But I dared not to ask, it probably was Alpha business. “Come here, Prince Tony.” The Alpha said and I walked in front of him. When I reached in front of him, I made a bow and knelt on one foot, the way I was instructed on the very day I arrived. Then I stood up after some seconds. The Alpha King nodded and smiled. “You are well trained now.” The king said. “Yes. My king.” I said. Sophia used many hours teaching me respect to the Royal Family. Or I would have answered, ‘Yeah, the beautiful trainer you gave me really doesn’t suck!’ “Very well.” Said the king. I knew where this was going: the best part. I was going to be given something good like a certificate, or something better like a weapon, or officially be given my trainer as my wife. At least I thought so, until… “Now, come fight with me!” The King said. I almost yelped. I looked at him hardly, trying to read a lot of things from him for a short time. I wanted to know if he was kidding, and if he was not, I wanted to see the size of the body I was going to fight – and who I was going to fight! I was going to fight with the king, the commander of all soldiers! As far as I knew, in the human world, the president in the commander of all soldiers, all military forces, no matter he or she has passed through some trainings, a total soldier or never trained. But I knew here in the Pack, all people here were trained for war and fights. Because they lived in the pack and had to be ready for war. Before I decided what to do, the king stood up with a sword in his hand. I breathed heavily, trying to think how it would look like, fighting with the king. And I had no weapon by then. The king charged. Now I decided in my head that I was not able to fight, but I had to use the dodging skills I learned from Sophia, which she called ‘the live-for-your-loved-one skill’. The King no began to try his best to cut me, swinging his sword heroically and tactically, as if he really meant to kill me. I flipped, turned and jumped and lay down, trying to avoid to be touched by his word. For minutes he tried hard to cut me, but his sword did not get me at all. Eventually, he was tired. He stood in front of me, panting and sweating. Then he nodded and smiled then sat on his throne. He threw his sword aside and sat there cheerfully. I smiled at what was happening. Now I felt bigger than anyone in the Pack. I had defeated the king. I was stronger than the… “Nice beginning!” The king interrupted my thoughts. “Thanks.” I said, “My King.” “You really are knowledgeable now. And skilled.” He said and I nodded, “So, tomorrow, you are going to be taken to the field, to test your skills more.” “The field? I thought the primary trainings were over!” I said in confusions. I don’t think that was funny but the soldiers roared in laughter. I totally didn’t know why they laughed. I was confused even more. “You are going to be taken to the border tomorrow,” the Alpha said, “because every day the Black Moon Pack try to intrude in our pack. But our soldiers have to keep them back. So you are going to join these soldiers.” I was excited. Now I was going to have actual fights with bad wolf soldiers. So I nodded happily and assured the king that I was ready. While I stood there happily thinking of tomorrow’s field day, someone appeared behind the king’s throne. It was the princess. Princess Neema! The smile I had on my face faded away and my face created a huge frown. I almost snarled but I quickly stopped myself. The princess stood beside her father’s throne and looked at me. The king looked at her and smiled. “Prince Tony,” the king said humbly, “I suppose I haven’t introduced you to my daughter, the princess.” I almost shouted, ‘I know her! She is a piece of dirt!’ but I calmed myself. “This is my daughter, Princess Neema,” said King Juma, “and Neema, this is Tony, Prince Tony, the descendant of the late Alpha, my brother.” Neema looked at me with her head high and nodded. Then she rose her eyebrows and smiled at me. “I would like you two to meet and get to know each other better.” The king said and literally pushed her daughter to me, making her walk straight to where I was. I had no chance to protest. “We are going in my room, father,” Neema told the king loudly, “I need to show him some things.” “Are you sure?” I asked, trying not to create doubt in the king’s mind. “Sure, just follow me.” She said and walked up towards the door which was behind the throne. We passed by the throne and headed to her room. When we entered her room, she quickly shut the door and locked it right away. I was angry with it and the fire of revenge burned in my chest. “Prince Tony,” Neema said softly, “I know you don’t love me. So I called you here to apologize for what happened back in your cottage. I know you didn’t like it.” “Yeah!” I said angrily, “I hated it! You know I was in love with Sophia!” “What?!” She asked in shock, “You are in love with who?!” I regretted. Now I didn’t know why she was wondering about that while she was the one who told me that she knew and that it was totally a mistake. “What, you… you told me that!” I said. “I was not sure!” She cried, her eyes already full of tears, “I was just saying, but I… do you really love her?!” “Ok, to be honest,” I said, “I feel like that. But I am not sure about that Princess.” Suddenly, the look on the princess’s face turned from sad to angry. “Alright then,” she said angrily, “I was ready with all my body, mind and love for you! I pleaded you, Tony to be with me, but you rejected me! You… you just had s*x with me and did not love me, no matter how I pleaded you.” The tears made the clay on her face crumble. “You just abused me!” She continued, “You love that girl who is until now, nowhere to be seen. You have no any feeling to me. You have no any affection, you don’t think anything about me! Fine! I know you are doing this because you have known that girl for a while now and you never even had the time to think of me. Good! I will just remain single until the end of my life, and you have your slave-girl forever!” She the cried hard in sobs and ran for the door. The words she spoke suddenly got me. I thought for a while and looked at her. Her eyes showed true love and affection. I was torturing her now, and as she said, I just had s*x with her without any love. That was abuse. She opened the door and ran out of the room. I ran after her. I needed to apologize to what I was thinking about her and showing her I was sorry. I got out of the room and we were right behind the throne, and the king was still there, with a lot of unarmed soldiers. The kind didn’t bother to look at us, he either ignored us, or did not hear us coming. I caught her as she was about to descend the steps. I held her and turned her towards me. The clay hid her beauty but she still looked beautiful. I realized now. She was crying. I held her close to my body and hugged her tightly. Some soldiers gaped for a while and stared away pretending to have not seen anything. Of course they were right, it was bad manners to look at the prince and the princess having good time. I looked her in the eyes. “Tony, what are you doing?” She whispered really quietly, I almost didn’t hear it. I kissed her. I didn’t care about the smell of the clay and the weird taste of it. But the kiss was better than all. We kissed right behind the Alpha king. As we kissed, suddenly, the door burst open and in came a soldier in a full speed. The king stood up suddenly with the sword in his arms ready. Neema and I were too stunned to let each other go, we just froze there, our eyes staring at the weird soldier. The soldier entered in a hurry, holding a sword despite the Mwandamo day. The soldier was the girl, and she had her face painted white. I immediately recognized her, it was Sophia! She ran before the king and made a quick curtsey. “My king!” Sophia said in a panting voice, “Your highness! We are under attack! The Black Moon Pack troops are already in our borders!” The king jumped up in shock. Sophia’s eyes trailed from the king to the people behind him – us! When she saw us still holding each other in shock, she stood up very angrily and quickly. Then she turned around and walked towards the entrance door. But suddenly she turned around again and faced the king. She looked totally mad. I let go of Neema and stood firmly, trying to make Sophia look at me. In fact, whenever I saw Sophia, the feelings to other girls faded, and I now wanted to apologize to her. “We are attacked!” The king cried, “On our Mwandamo festival! Gather the troops! We are going to war!” The soldiers in the courtroom stormed out of the room, shouting angry war cries. This left the king, Sophia, Neema and I in the room. I descended the steps and walked towards Sophia who stood firmly and angrily waiting for a word from the king. “Why are you still standing here, Omega? Just GO!” The king cried with rage! “My King!” Sophia said, not making a step, “They said they are after Tony! They say he had stolen their hostage and killed some Black Moon Soldiers, in the disguise of the soldier from the Black Moon!” “WHAT?!!” Both the King, the Princess and I shouted in shock! “Me?! What are you talking about?!” I asked in confusion, “You must have mixed me up with someone else…” “I know, Prince Tony!” Sophia said seriously, “They must have mixed you up. But I have doubt of the hostage they are talking about. It must be a human who knows you!” Oh no! No! That is all I could think! It was not possible for a human I knew to come in the Pack I hated and get themselves killed. My mind refused to agree with that. “And they saw my lookalike killing their soldiers,” I said, “and they invaded us just to take me!” “ENOUGH!” The king ordered, “There in no time to talk now! Tony! Go and fetch your weapons, we are going to war! Sophia, gather all soldiers in the pack, give them plans, I will be on my way with the Special Forces! Neema, you and the other girls find the good place to hide! That is NOW!” Before we made another reaction, the door burst open again and in came another soldier. It was Martin, followed by some other soldiers, my Aunt Mariam, my godmother included! “What is it again, Martin?!” The king barked. “It’s the raid, your highness!” Martin cried. “I know that!” The king roared. “And Tony!!!” Aunt Mariam called loudly, running forward towards me, “Fatuma is missing! She is nowhere to be seen! I did some investigation and found out that she came in the forest, but is nowhere to be found!” “WHAT?!” I cried! So Fatuma was coming for me! She was lost in the forest. I suddenly remembered the words Sophia said, that the Black Moon Pack was after me because I stole their hostage! And she said that it was probably a human I knew. Now the raspberries grew in my body. Fatuma was probably kidn*pped by the Black Moon Pack and was stolen by some other bad wolves who claimed to be me, just to get me killed. “Who is Fatuma?!” Neema asked. “Don’t aske silly question, princess,” I barked, “go and hide! Sophia, sorry for whatever happened! Nothing I meant to happen. I love you! We must go find Fatuma!” All the people in the room looked at me like I was a clown. Yeah, I didn’t make sense. But I needed to go. To go and save my girlfriend. “Apology rejected!” Sophia said coldly and also turned to go outside. Neema ran to her room quickly, slamming the door after her. We all ran outside the room, leaving the king alone in the courtroom, about to summon the Special Wolf Forces!
