Prologue

Looking around the busy room full of people interacting and having conversations, I felt drained. Not only was I tired, but my eyes burned due to late night at work and the continuous schedule that never seemed to end.  I missed home, my sisters, my mother and heck even my dad I rarely got along with. I've been in LA for 5 years now and it still felt too much sometimes, I just wanted to say fuxk everything and run back home to my family. I haven't visited Nigeria even once since I got here, knowing me if I did I'd probably end up staying back home and ditching school and work and I couldn't have that not when I've gotten so far and not after everything.  I sigh making my mind up to leave this dry ass new year party, my friend Eva invited me with the stupid excuse of 'going out and mingling once in a while' as she puts it, I wish I stayed home I would have covered a lot of work instead of standing around towering over most if not all of the people in this room. Placing my drink on the table I turn to leave when I bump into someone and the content of their cup spilled all over my Ermenegildo Zegna Bespoke new suit. Now this isn't a well known brand to everyone but it is one of the most popular and expensive Italian suit makers of all time, A suit cost 22,000$ and day cleaning alone was 5,000$ so yes I was pissed off. "I'm so so sorry I wasn't looking where I was going, Lawd help my clumsy soul!" A soft and sensual voice babbled erratically, there was a heavy New York accent there which she tried to hide.  I was ready to blow up and curse her out but all the thought in my head were replaced with nothing but awe, cause right in front of me was the most beautiful woman I’ve even laid my eyes on.
