I felt a light taping on my face that was beginning to irritate me. I raised my hand to swat whatever it was away. Someone caught my hand and held it tight. “Merilee, wake up.” It was my dad. What did he want? “Daddy, what is it?” I opened my eyes to look at him. He looked relieved. I was on the couch and he was looking down at me holding something cold to my head.
