“I’m moving back to the apartment soon.” I turned my attention back my food.
“Why would you want to do that?” His voice was rising with each word.
“Because there’s no reason for me to stay here anymore.” I didn’t dare look up at him. I knew he would fight me on this, but I’d already made up my mind.
“You can’t be alone when the change happens.” Joe was the only cool person in the room.
