She saw him getting out of his car, and for some reason, she instantly felt protected and safe with him in this situation. As he approached her, he held her shoulders and helped her stand up. She looked at him with mixed emotions and relief, unable to explain why she felt that way. Their eye contact sent a shiver down her spine, as she noticed anger in his gaze. He tightly held onto her shoulder and glanced back at the men with a fierce expression. He grabbed her wrist and moved her behind him, shielding her from them. "Hey man, leave her alone! We saw her first, so we go first. You can have her after we're done," one of the men shouted, causing her to flinch and tightly grip his shirt. "Yes, you can have that b***h after I'm done with her. I'm gonna tear that w***e apart for daring to kneed me," yelled the other man. And she was forcibly seated on the ground, feeling disgusted by his words. She hugged her knees and sobbed loudly, unable to bear what she was hearing. She hates hearing those words. It makes her feel gross about herself. She always believed she was pure and clean, but they both tainted her with their sinful hands. She despises being in this place; right now, she just wants her mother close to her so she can hide in her mother's arms. His disgusting words keep echoing in her head, and she doesn't want to hear them. It makes her feel disgusted and impure. She covers her ears with her palms and holds on tightly, not wanting to hear anything anymore. She can hear the man growling in anger and men groaning in pain sound, but she doesn't want to hear anything. Worriedly, she tightly closed her eyes and hugged herself in fear, refusing to move from her spot. Her heart skipped a beat as someone touched her shoulder, causing her to flinch in terror. Looking up, she saw him standing there. His expression softened as he saw her vulnerability, and he gently held her, guiding her to stand on shaky legs. Tears streamed down her face as she sobbed, overwhelmed by the sight of him. In a comforting tone, he reassured her, "You're safe now, no one is going to harm you." Hearing his words, she locked eyes with him, seeking solace, and he nodded to reassure her. "Look," he said, "they're both unconscious, they won't hurt you anymore." His words were an attempt to pull her out of her traumatic state. She cautiously glanced behind him and saw the two men lying on the ground, unconscious. Turning back to him, she studied his face, searching for further confirmation. As he nodded once again, conveying that everything was now settled, she nodded in acknowledgement, finally understanding. Her eyes once again welled up with tears, cascading down her cheeks. An overwhelming sense of vulnerability washed over her as she tightly wrapped her arms around herself in a desperate attempt for solace. To her dismay, her scarf failed to conceal her chest, and the torn back of her top left her bra on display. She felt utterly helpless, unable to express her discomfort, and silently shed tears. Growing increasingly bewildered, he took note of her intensified self-embrace, finally grasping the source of her unease. Acting on impulse, he swiftly removed his shirt and placed it over her trembling form. As the fabric came into contact with her exposed back, she clung to it tightly, offering a faint murmur of gratitude. He mustered a tight-lipped smile and confessed, "The buttons ripped off my shirts during fight, so..." He hesitated for a moment, and she understood his unspoken explanation, nodding in acknowledgement. "So tell me, where is your home, I will drop you there," he uttered softly and moved to open the car door, but she heard him curse under his breath. Worried, she frowned and approached him. "What happened?" she asked softly, anxious about his well-being. She watched as he sighed and then looked towards her. "The key is in the car and I locked it from outside, so..." She nodded at him, trying to think of a solution. "We can find some nearby shelter and wait till morning for help," she suggested hesitantly, her innocent eyes pleading for understanding. Both of them were drenched in rain, and it seemed unlikely they would find assistance at this hour of the night. He nodded in agreement and they walked away together, searching for a place to take refuge from the storm.
