Both of Raven’s flights occurred without incident and he had landed as scheduled at eight p.m. his time at Schönefeld. He’d had to travel first from DFW to New York and spend the night since he’d already missed the daily nonstop to Berlin. The following morning he’d boarded the Lufthansa flight for the roughly thirteen-hour journey. He gathered his belongings from the overhead bin, strode through the terminal to baggage claim. Upon retrieving his luggage, he stood patiently in line to get through customs. As often as he traveled, he’d learned the value of patience and courtesy in these situations.
