Chapter 2: Rebirth of the Void

255 Words
Darkness. Cold, endless, and silent. Chris floated in the void—no body, no sound, just thought. He couldn’t tell how long he’d been there. Seconds? Centuries? Time didn’t exist here. Then a voice echoed through the abyss. > “You have been erased from your world, but your soul still lingers… burdened by pain, yet strong enough to defy oblivion.” A light appeared before him—a swirl of black and silver energy. > “I grant you one last chance. A world where you may find your true purpose. Take this gift… and carve your path through the void.” Before he could respond, the light consumed him. --- When Chris opened his eyes again, he was lying on a field of silver grass beneath a violet sky. Floating islands drifted above him, and two suns burned in the distance. He sat up, dazed. “This… isn’t Earth.” Then he noticed something beside him—an elegant sword half-buried in the ground. Its blade shimmered black with streaks of purple light, humming softly as if alive. When he reached for it, the handle pulsed with warmth. > [Voidedge – The Blade of Nothingness] “A weapon forged from your erased existence. It cuts through all creation.” As his hand closed around it, memories of the void flashed before his eyes—his pain, loneliness, and longing—all absorbed by the blade. Suddenly, his surroundings shifted. The peaceful meadow trembled. From the forest nearby, a monstrous roar shattered the air.
