DAVINA
It was Monday afternoon, and I was about to leave for my residential house soon. I didn’t see him the whole day and it made me restless. I shouldn’t be thinking about Aiden. It was wrong to be interested in him. Yet I couldn’t wipe it from my mind. The dreams about him started to be more intense and they felt so real. This morning I woke up having an o.rgasm as my wicked mind dreamed about him pleasuring me. I could feel his warm hands sliding up and down my body, touching me in a way no one ever did. What a fantasy! Seemed like I had a serious s.exual deficit.
It would be a lie not to admit that I missed his presence. He must have been busy or maybe during the weekend he had already forgotten about me. What if he managed to find his fated mate already? Oh, lords! At least it happened before I fell for him completely. Before I lost my sanity.
I walked to the parking lot of the pack mansion. I was late on purpose and the driver was waiting for me. I made some excuses like going to the toilet or being thirsty. Anything that could increase my chances of meeting him. I was so pathetic.
I opened the back door and hopped in.
“Hello, sir. Sorry for the delay. We can go now.” I bended my head upwards, piercing the fabric ceiling of the car.
“Hello blondie.” His voice made me almost choke on the fresh air. What was he doing here? And why was he in the driver’s seat? Well, I was floating on cloud nine, of course, to see him, but it still shocked me.
“Am I in the wrong car?” I asked, looking around nervously. I surely made a mistake and took the wrong car. He must have thought I was a complete moron.
“No, beautiful. But this seems to be the only way to spend more time with you.” He explained casually, his eyes watching me like a hawk in the rear-view mirror. He started the engine and drove.
“Ehm, where are we going?” I asked, my heart hammering in my chest. Yes, I was pretty excited to be locked with him in such a small space.
“Kidnapping you.” He said, suppressing the chuckle.
“What?! Why would you do that?” My eyes almost popped out.
“Blondie, relax. It’s a surprise and I don’t want to ruin it. So, you need to wait till we get there.” He tried to sound more causal when he noticed the sweat on my forehead. S.hit! I was sweating again. This happened to me quite often. I was only hoping not to get that type of ugly smelling sweat under my armpits. That would be disgusting. Well, if I wanted to get rid of this werewolf, I could use it as a weapon. My scent would surely make him run for the hills. The only problem was that I didn’t want him to go away. I felt like a little girl who was being taken to Disneyland. I couldn't decide whether his gesture was rude or the most romantic one.
“How was your weekend?” I asked after some time of driving. The silence was making me agitated, I had the tendency to scratch myself all round my arms.
“Nothing special. Being a werewolf makes your days merge into one. The routine is just about the same day by day.”
“Sounds boring and empty.” The words left my mouth before I could think them through. That was quite inappropriate of me and disrespectful. Maybe he should have stopped the car and threw me out once there was still enough time.
“You may be right.” Was his response and it made me surprised. “But luckily, it’s Monday and I can see you again. That somehow makes me count the days and distinguish between weekends.” Our eyes locked in the mirror reflection and what felt like a brief moment must have lasted longer because he rotated the steering wheel abruptly, noticing a large stone in the middle of the road at the very last second. I shouldn’t be distracting the driver. I decided it would be better to gaze at the back of his seat instead.
But his words stuck with me. Just why was he flirting with me? Why so much effort? I didn’t get it. Yet I was too shy to ask him directly. I was afraid he would stop approaching me, searching for me like...this.
“What were you doing during your days off?”
“Visiting my parents. Haven’t seen them for a while. I am an only child, so they are always making a big thing out of it when I come home. I feel like celebrity.”
“Hm, that’s nice that you can spend time with both your parents. You should value such moments. Never know when those could be the last ones.” His voice suddenly saddened, and I raised my brow. What did he mean? As per my observation, he had a nice family. An amazing mom and cheerful younger sister. But after one week in his pack, I never met his father. I never met the Alpha of Black Forest. Maybe that was the reason behind his comment. Maybe his dad was not around. Hm, quite unusual for werewolves considering the fact they were very family oriented. But I didn’t want to pry. I shouldn’t stick my nose into anyone’s business.
“We’re here.” He announced, his voice back in a positive mood. He rotated himself on his seat, and I had the unique opportunity to look at his handsome face. He was smiling at me warmly. This was so bizarre. It felt like being in a fairytale. The guy of my wildest dreams kidnapped me for… a date?
Was it a date though? Because all I could see was just a meadow and forests. Nature in all its beauty. But nothing more.
“So, where is here?” I asked, pinching myself secretly. No, it was not just a dream. Aiden was scanning me with the facial expression of a hungry wolf. Almost as if he wanted to feast on me. Oh, Gods! I was completely turned on by his intensive staring.
“This is Golden Meadows territory. I found it when I was driving my sister to her friend for a sleepover. Very rare and unique flowers grow here, and I heard you have a passion for brewing potions. There could be something useful for your studies.” He explained as if it was not a big deal. As if it was just some random place we accidently discovered. But it was a big deal actually! My jaw dropped because I couldn’t believe this. He did research about me. He found out about my hobby. He made an effort to woo me…? Holy Goddess!
“I don’t know what to say. Aiden, this is… Thank you.” I was very grateful. It was indeed a great opportunity for me to find new plant species.
“Let us explore this area then.” He jumped out of the car and opened the door for me. I took the hand which he was offering, and that simple touch ran a shiver down my spine. This guy was unbelievable.
He opened the trunk of the car just to spoil me some more. There was a blanket and a picnic basket. He definitely pulled a Prince Charming card on me, and I was no longer sure if I was able to resist. Or if I wanted to.
Mom’s warning echoed in my head. Don’t fall for a werewolf, Davina! He will dump you as soon as he finds his fated mate. But why not enjoy it while it was still magical?
My heart fluttered with joy when I observed the colorful paradise of wildflowers blooming in the meadow. I took samples of all those which I needed for my new potions. Corn marigold, oxeye daisy, purple foxglove and blue bells. Even the sweet vernal grass, which was mistakenly considered a weed because it was not that common in northern parts of Canada.
Aiden watched me while sitting on the blanket, arranging the finger foods for our picnic. Fresh vegetable spring rolls with peanut sauce, watermelon skewers with feta cheese and mint pesto, chicken tortilla pinwheels, bacon stuffed mini peppers and chocolate blueberry muffins. There wasn’t a single ingredient I did not love. When it came to food, I was quite a lover. I guess my hips and ass were proof of that. He opened the bottle of prosecco and filled two glasses, each one decorated with a fresh strawberry.
“I don’t know what to say. This is amazing, Aiden.” I pointed my hands at the delicateses on the blanket and then at the breathtaking scenery of the sun slowly setting down.
“I’m glad you like it. I wanted to make this moment special.” He said when our glasses clinked and we took a sip.
“But why? You don’t know me at all. Why so much effort?” It was hard for me to believe that a man of his appearance would be interested in someone like me. I was ordinary. With my old jeans and plain t-shirts, I could hardly attract anyone. I wasn’t very communicative either. I liked to say things via my music. The violin was giving me confidence, it was the reflection of my emotions and unspoken feelings. Otherwise, I was an introvert without friends or a great social life.
“You still have to ask? Don’t you know?” he sounded disappointed. The mood swung from happy to sad in a matter of a finger snap. I was so confused by his werewolf personality. I liked all the attention from him. The truth was I could barely stop thinking about him. And it was very much overwhelming. But still, my rational thinking was raising a red flag around this man. I didn’t need to be toyed with by some playboy.
“Honestly, I don’t. I would never have said I was your type.” I confessed, putting the empty glass of prosecco back into the basket and lying on the blanket. Cloud watching was something I enjoyed doing as a kid. I still did it in my adult life – creating stories out of pictures in the clouds. It helped to lift the mood when I felt down – when my mom cried over unpaid bills or when Elliot broke up with me because of Brenda. In troubling times, I liked to engage with the sky.
Aiden moved behind me and laid carefully next to me. Head to head and upside down, we watched the sky together.
“Tell me what you see.” He encouraged me.
“Well, that one looks like a one-winged horse.” I pointed my finger at the cloud which he could hardly see from his perspective.
“A broken unicorn?” He laughed and the sound of it made me blush. He had such a s.exy laugh.
“May be. Because he is also without a horn.” I added to his theory. “And what do you see?”
“I see the most beautiful flower in the sunlight. The rare flower with a voice which is like the music to the earth, making everything around blossom. The flower with a sweet fragrance of fresh peaches which makes the world a place of delight.” My cheeks were burning red, my heart fluttered in my chest. I was not stupid and realized he was talking about me. The corner of my eye could see him looking at me. I turned my head to the side, meeting his green eyes.
I licked my lips in anticipation when he moved closer. The body language said it all, the man that resonated as God was about to kiss me. I’ve never felt so many butterflies tickling me from the inside like when our lips made first contact. Moving slowly, our lips brushed against each other. I closed my eyes fully for the upcoming pleasure. The kiss was smooth, warm, romantic. He sucked my upper lip gently, making me feel burning heat in my lower belly. I felt like MJ in a Spiderman movie being kissed upside down. The only difference was we were lying flat. My hand raised itself, the fingers burying themselves into his dark brown hair. We were suddenly so focused on each other that the rest of the world blurred around us. I was getting numb and completely lost in the sensuality of our first kiss.
He pulled away and I immediately disliked it. I wanted more of him. He looked at me, studying my face in great detail.
“Nothing?” He asked, trying hard to stay calm.
“What are you talking about?” The confusion overtook my mind. What was he trying to achieve with those strange questions?
He rotated himself and slid his body next to mine. His strong arms wrapped themselves around my waist, pulling me into his embrace. The minty scent was more intense while being this dangerously close to his body. I trembled when his fingertips pressed into my back, a demand of his firm chest to touch my breasts. He crashed his lips into mine. The kiss was no longer sweet or gentle, it was possessive and full of passion. And every concern I had before our lips locked was gone. I put my hands around his neck, pushing myself against the firmness of his muscles. Hot tongues exploring each other’s territory in a teasing way. Naughty hands roaming all over each other's bodies. I moaned softly into our kiss and his chest vibrated in a low growl. He rolled us over on his back, placing me on top of him. I could feel his hard-on and out of reflex rubbed myself against it. More and more. I was very much possessed by this magical kissing, sensing how my panties were soaked with wetness.
“Hmmm, blondie. You can’t tease me like this with dry fvcking. This is a very dangerous game you’re playing.” He murmured into my mouth, and I opened my eyes widely. I snapped back from the moment of ecstasy and swiftly rolled myself off him.
“Davina.” He called my name as I turned my back to him, feeling ashamed of my bold behavior. I shouldn’t be messing around with the future Alpha of Black Forest. If I pissed him off, it could ruin my internship. What if he asked Theresa to cancel on me? I couldn’t be this irresponsible and reckless.
“What are we doing here, Aiden? What is it you are trying to achieve with me? Do you wish to kill time and release some steam? Am I an experiment to you?” I burst out angrily. This man confused me so much.
“Release some steam?! Experiment?! Seriously? Look at me, Davina.” He grabbed me by my shoulders, forcing me to turn around and face him.
“You have no idea, do you?” He sighed sharply when he noticed the worry hung on my face.
“I don’t understand you,” I stated, giving up completely. And he leaned closer, his forehead pressing against mine. Every single touch made my breathing heavier. Hesitance could be spotted in his green eyes, but he quickly shook it off. His lips were so kissable and when he parted them, I had the impression he was about to claim my mouth again. But instead, words escaped his lips. The words that made my heart beat with the utmost intensity.
“You, my beautiful Davina - you are my mate.”
