AMIRA The seasons seemed to pass quickly on this side of the world. Before I knew it, six years had passed. I took in a deep breath, inhaling the cool summer evening scent. The scent of freshly baked bread drifted from the open kitchen window. “Don’t run around, please. You are going to hurt yourself” I warned fondly as familiar giggles reached my ear as my boys tumbled through the grass, their matching dark curls bouncing with their movement. “Mummy, tell Elias to stop chasing me first” Ezra giggled as he ran faster to avoid his brother.
