Reunion with the Beast

Soon the time passed and it was evening time. Isha reached home from college and went straight to her room with a heavy heart. She kept her bag aside, changed and after freshening up after washing her hands and face, came down to the hall. In the hall, his mother was preparing evening breakfast in the kitchen. Just then the doorbell rang and Isha's father also returned home tired from his work. Isha immediately went towards the kitchen and came into the hall with a glass of cold water for Papa. “Thank you son,” Papa smiled and took the glass of water and sat on the sofa. Meanwhile, Isha's mother also brought hot tea and breakfast prepared in trays for all three of us from the kitchen. Everyone was sitting together and sipping tea when father placed the cup of tea on the table and said - "Listen, tomorrow evening we have to go to Vihaan's house to give the omen of the marriage. And yes, we have come to know that Vihaan's uncle has also returned from abroad." As soon as Isha's mother heard the name 'Chachaji', Isha's mother's face lit up with happiness. She said smilingly - "Oh wow! This is a very good thing. Vihaan always praises his uncle, isn't he such a big businessman of London. Now the wedding preparations will be more fun." Isha sat quietly holding her cup of tea. Suddenly the fear of that unknown person and the fear of last night started roaming in his mind. I don't know why, as soon as Isha heard the mention of 'Vihaan's uncle', a strange feeling of panic started in her heart. Then father looked at Isha and said, "And Isha, son, you also have to come with us tomorrow. Vihaan's entire family has invited you for a special dinner." Isha was shocked to hear this. The cup of tea spilled a little from his hand. Isha said hesitantly, “P-Papa… I, I mean… there is a lot of college work tomorrow, is it necessary for me to go?” Mother gazed at Isha lovingly and said - "Oh crazy girl, how can you not go like this..." The future in-law has called you with such respect. And anyway, Vihaan's uncle is going to meet you for the first time. You will have to go!" Isha had no excuse left for refusing. She forced a smile and nodded—completely unaware of the dreadful truth that the 'uncle' whom she was going to meet at Vihaan's house tomorrow was none other than the same mafia king Reyansh Oberoi! Last night was like a nightmare for Isha. She kept changing sides again and again, but sleep was far away from her eyes. Only the same scene of the night and the tension of today's dinner party were roaming in his mind. The next day, after coming from college, she got tired very quickly, but she had to hurry to get ready. Had to take 'Shagun' to Vihaan's house, she had to look good. Isha took out the red colored Anarkali suit from her wardrobe which Vihaan had gifted her last week. The suit was very lovely, with fine golden zari work on it. When she wore it, she looked like an angel in it. The deep red color was blooming perfectly on her fair skin. She kept her hair open and applied light makeup on her face. There was such innocence and simplicity in her look that anyone could lose their heart after seeing it. When she stood in front of the mirror, she found her face a little pale. She took a deep breath and tried to calm herself. "Isha, son! Get ready quickly, we are getting late!" Mom's voice came from the hall. Isha controlled her trembling hands and quickly came down. His father and mother were already ready. Papa wore a sherwani and mother wore a saree. Looking at all three, it seemed as if they were going to some big function. Everyone sat in the car and set out towards Vihaan's house. All the way, Isha's dad and mom kept talking excitedly about the wedding—how Vihaan is a nice boy, and how big and rich the Oberoi family is. Isha was looking out the window at the streets of London, but her attention was not on the conversation. His heart was beating loudly. She couldn't understand why she was so nervous – was it because of meeting Vihaan's family, or because of the fear buried deep inside her that someone might recognize her? Soon the car stopped in front of the huge gate of Oberoi Mansion. As soon as Isha opened the gate, she was left breathless after seeing the luxurious house in front of her. As soon as his car stopped in front of the huge, carved iron main gate of the Oberoi Mansion, the gate started opening automatically. The car slowly started moving down a long private driveway, flanked on both sides by neatly trimmed green gardens and twinkling warm lights. The sight before them dazzled the eyes of Isha and her parents. Oberoi Mansion was not an ordinary house, but a very huge and luxurious palace like a modern French castle. The high walls made of white marble, huge classic pillars and carvings of glass windows were screaming about its grandeur. There was a huge Italian fountain running right in the middle of the mansion, the water drops from which were shining like diamonds in the colorful lights. A fleet of luxury cars were lined up near the portico—from Range Rovers to Mercedes to dark Rolls-Royces, testifying to the unwavering influence and immense wealth of the Oberoi family. The entire mansion was bathed in warm and royal golden lights. There was a strange feeling of royalty, power and prestige in the atmosphere there. As soon as Isha got down from the car, Isha looked towards that tall palace. His heart suddenly started beating loudly. Even though the palace looked very beautiful from outside, the silence and beauty hidden inside it was filling Isha's mind with an unknown fear. The interior of the mansion was even more luxurious than the outside. The warm lights emanating from the huge crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling cast a royal glow throughout the hall. Seeing the Persian carpet spread on the floor, the old paintings on the walls and the luxurious decoration of the entire house, it seemed as if one had entered a royal palace. Just then Vihaan's mother, Mira Oberoi, came towards him smiling from the hall. Her personality was very graceful and warm. As soon as Isha saw him, showing her respect, she bent down and moved forward to touch his feet. Meera immediately stopped Isha with her hands and pulled her to stand and placed her hand on Isha's face and said lovingly - "Oh no son, what are you doing? In Oberoi Mansion, daughters do not touch their feet, they only hug." Isha got some relief from Meera's words. Smiling, Meera led Isha and her parents towards the main hall. Vihaan's father, Vikram Oberoi, was sitting there on the sofa. Vikram was a very dignified and powerful personality. Grandfather and grandmother were also sitting nearby, who were looking absolutely royal in their Kanjeevaram saree. Isha met everyone one by one. Grandfather blessed Isha very lovingly. Isha's nervousness had started to subside a little, but her eyes were continuously searching for Vihaan. Isha's father, sitting on the sofa, looked around and smilingly asked Vikram Oberoi - "By the way... where is Vihaan? He has not been seen anywhere yet." Looking at the watch, Vikram replied with a little laugh - "Well, he will be coming soon. He was stuck in some urgent business call, but he has confirmed that he will join soon." Isha heaved a sigh of relief, but she still felt that there was some secret hidden within the walls of this house. Just then there was movement near the heavy doors and Vihaan entered inside. He was ending a business call on his phone. As soon as he looked up, his eyes fixed on Isha sitting in the middle of the hall. Isha was looking so gorgeous and stunning in that red colored Anarkali that Vihaan froze in place for a few seconds. He just kept staring at her, as if he couldn't believe that this was the same Isha who used to go on casual dates with him till a few days ago. Then Meera (Vihaan's mother) noticed this condition of Vihaan and jokingly said - "Enough Vihaan, control! Isha is yours now, don't stare at her so badly, otherwise my lovely daughter will get caught." Hearing this, everyone present in the hall started laughing loudly. Vihaan felt a little shy and a cute smile appeared on his face. He quickly moved forward and went to Isha's parents and touched their feet and took their blessings. There was some conversation here and there, tea and snacks were served and the atmosphere became quite relaxed. The Oberoi family had specially called a very famous Panditji from India, who was decorating the puja thali at that time. Pandit ji looked at the watch and said, “Sir, it is a very auspicious time, the right time has come to start the puja.” Then Isha's mother looked around a bit and asked softly, "But... Vihaan's uncle has not come yet? Shouldn't we wait for his arrival?" Then grandfather sitting on the sofa, adjusting his glasses, said seriously - "No, there is still some time for his arrival, he is in an urgent meeting. We cannot postpone the auspicious time, let's start the puja, he will join after coming." Everyone took their place, Pandit ji started reciting the mantra and an atmosphere of worship was created. The rituals had started in the hall. Isha's parents gave Shagun items to Vihaan, after which Vihaan's family gifted new clothes and jewelery to Isha. Vihaan's mother very lovingly covered Isha's head with that heavy, lustrous red chunari. Isha was sitting with her eyes down in a very shy and innocent manner. He felt that his bad times were behind him. Just then, the heavy doors of the mansion opened with a jerk. Everyone present in the hall suddenly became silent, as if the oxygen in the air had reduced. That heavy and steady sound of feet... it was not the arrival of anyone, but the feeling of the arrival of death. Reyansh Oberoi entered the center of the hall. He wore a dark gray three-piece suit, and there was that creepy seriousness in his eyes that would send shivers down anyone's spine. Isha was still sitting with her eyes down, she had no idea who was standing in front of her. Grandmother looked at Reyansh and said smilingly - "Oh Reyansh... Son, you have come! Come, meet our future daughter-in-law. Vihaan's Isha!" Reyansh slowly came and stood in front of Isha. The sound of her shoes had stopped, but Isha felt that a huge shadow was standing over her. Then suddenly, that heavy chunari slipped from Isha's head and started falling down from her shoulder. Isha nervously raised her hand to hold it, and at the same moment, Reyansh also moved his hand very quickly so that the chunri would not fall on the ground. Isha's fingers touched Reyansh's wrist. As soon as Isha raised her head and looked ahead, the blood running in her veins seemed to freeze. It was the same man in front of me! The same Reyansh Oberoi! Isha's eyes widened wide, her face turned white and she froze in place like a stone. She could not say anything, her throat was completely dry. There was a strange, scary gleam in Reyansh's eyes. There was that wicked 'devil smile' on his lips, which clearly showed that he had recognized Isha. He said in his cold and heavy voice - "Welcome, Miss Isha..." Having said this, he bent a little more, came very close to Isha and whispered in her ear in a very low, but dangerous voice – "Meeting you again so soon... what a thing luck is, isn't it? But this time, I won't let you go so easily." Isha trembled after hearing these words of Reyansh. His entire body became cold. Vihaan and others could not understand what Reyansh said, but Isha knew that her biggest fear had come face to face with her today.
