What was this fool doing here? I could see how uncomfortable Zoey was feeling, and I held her hand to comfort her.
"What are you doing here?" I asked him as he walked into the room. He looked around, and a stupid smirk took over his face.
"I don't know. I just wanted to see how you two were getting along. And as I suspected, you are together and cozy against each other. I can't believe you moved on that fast, Zoey," he said, and Zoey didn't dare look up. She was trying to seek comfort in me, and I would not let her feel alone.
