“We have to speed the process in getting more students to attend the school,” the mayor said in our monthly meeting.
“There is really nothing I can do, mayor. I only take care of overseeing the construction sites,” I replied, not understanding why I would be in charge of submitting the kids to the school.
“Well, I am putting you in charge of it. Go talk to your principal at Woodland High and convince the parents to sign too,” he ordered.
After the meeting, I headed towards school to talk to Alex about the proposed plan for the kids. Many parents had already been called and they were waiting for us in the gymnasium.
As I explained to them the benefits of having their kids in that school, every single one signed, approving the transfer.
