Chapter 39: The Visit

973 Words
It’s been forever since I last heard my doorbell rings.   I got up from the bed and headed to the door, since the bell has been ringing nonstop to an annoying extent. I leaned forward to the peephole to see and judge if the person buzzing the bell is worthy to die inside my condo or in the hallway.   “Okay, what the f**k?” I mumbled to myself as I saw a face with huge smile and rolled my eyes. As if I am going to let that bastard in. I sighed and headed to the kitchen to quench my thirst of blood, although I can only use water as a substitute for the meantime. The time will ripen and I will get to kill three people soon—my Schatten, his anonymous client and my ex-client, Mister Park.   The doorbell rang again and it was followed by nonstop knocking. “Are you not going to let me in?” The guy outside my door shouted and knocked and knocked again.   How annoying. I yawned and drank my glass of water.   “That was so rude.”   I put my glass down as the sound of Akuma was already behind me. “You’re the rude one, trespasser.” I uttered and glared at him after turning around. “You should stop: number one, annoying me, number two, ringing my doorbell, and number f*****g three, trespassing.” I added while raising my fingers one by one as I state my points.   “I am an assassin for those statements, don’t you think?” He replied and chuckled. “Anyway, Reisun, do you want to go—”   “f*****g no. Get out of my place.” I cut him off and pointed the door. “I’d like it if you and the other you will never appear in front of me ever again.”   Akuma did not move an inch nor bat an eye. He stood still with his smiling face. “I won’t go near you ever again if you would watch a movie with me today.” He continued what he was about to say earlier and crossed his arms.   “The f**k?” I groaned and raised my right brow. “Why would I comply, you fucker? And did you lose a screw because of too much computer?” What is up with this man? I steadied my glances and waited for him to respond. He intentionally went to my place, knocked on my goddamned door like a f*****g normal person, and now he’s inviting me to watch a movie? How dare he set up a deal with me in the first place? He doesn’t have a f*****g right to do so. After all, he liked lying to me.   “I don’t know.” Akuma shrugged and looked around, and then looked back at me. “I was researching on how to be a proper friend at least once, and there was a result stating that movie marathon is a good start.”   What the heck is up with him all of a sudden? He agreed to never let his and Akumu’s face be shown to me ever if I were to watch a movie with him, and his reason is because he f*****g wanted to be a real s**t? Where in the hell did he leave his brain?   “Hey, Akuma, what the f**k is with you?” I bluntly asked while glaring. Akuma sighed and scratched his nape, and then he walked to the counter to drink from the glass of water I put down earlier.   This guy who’s God’s favourite looked back at me with the eyes he used to use back when he was still reluctant to kill—soft, innocent, and scared. He put the empty glass of water down and walked towards me, leaving three steps between us.   I can easily take him down for I know I have brawl advantage, but his aura doesn’t call for violence at all. And a face without a f*****g bloodlust is almost a face of innocence. This s**t knows his game. I gulped while keeping my guard up. Although I am certain I can win, I don’t know what his motives are and heck, it’s been years since I last saw him get aggressive, so I can’t say how strong he is now.   Akuma looked down and exhaled, and then he looked back up to me. “I was planning to tell you everything once we’re in the cinema but it looks like you don’t want to go watch something with a friend.” He replied and nodded gently; trying to sound gloomy and sad, but I couldn’t lend him even a pinch of sympathy. “Well then, I would just spill everything here, Reisun.” His expression turned serious and his eyes sharpened.   “f**k, what?” I raised my brows again. He’s always this complicated and difficult to understand, but this time, his complexity is something I can’t measure.   “Kindly don’t stay in this condo after lunch.” He answered. And his f*****g reply was so unexpected; I almost showed a surprised face. “And I wish for your forgiveness, even though you won’t understand right away. This is my job, and we cannot escape our jobs, can we?”   The assassin s***h dealer standing in front of me was the first person who opened up the meaning of “friends” to me, five years ago. He was definitely annoying back then because he’s an apprentice of an annoying assassin as well. I learned that he entered this field for revenge, but his face never seemed like the one to take revenge. He was a good friend, I suppose. If Akumu and I did not break up, could Akuma and I still tell each other about our latest kills and acquired skills? Or if Akumu and I did not enter into a f*****g relationship, would the three of us stay as so-called friends? Ah, I wonder if one can rewind time. It would be nice to listen and trust Akuma’s nonsense today.   However…   He’s not the same Akuma Danger and I am not the same Reisun as before.
