Chapter 33: The Dangers

1037 Words
“Rei-kun?” She snapped her fingers in front of my face and I was brought back to the reality again. I quietly and unnoticeably gasped as I return my guard back on. My f*****g instincts stopped working for a second. What the hell? I furrowed my brows in annoyance of myself. “You don’t look—”   “I understand.” I cut her off right away. I am being watched because I will be assassinated. I am curious of whom my assassinator or my client might be, but as long as there is no movement from them yet, I cannot confirm anything. “Then what’s up with THSD?” I asked next without holding back anymore. I don’t care about pride now, as long as we’re together in a small space, I can impossibly refrain myself any longer. I have to go as quickly as possible for she surely is a human trap.   Kiken pouted and rested her face on her fist while its elbow is on the table. “What was that? You became too aggressive all of a sudden. It’s boring.” She mumbled while grouching. f**k it. I gulped and focused my eyes on my cup of warm coffee instead of thinking of anything else.   “If you don’t want to tell me, I can just hire Info to spill everything. Sayonara.” I readied myself again to move out. I still have to go to Alora… but if I can’t make it today, I will do so tomorrow.   Kiken looked at me and grinned. “Mister Love did not tell you anything. You’ve been in THD for seven years and yet you’re not aware of THSD that’s been established ten years ago. Do you think Mister Info will provide you the information you needed?” She said and sat properly. “Rei-kun, when did you start to consider Info as your friend who can give you anything you ask? Have you forgotten that assassins don’t have friends? Did the only exemption of the quote no man is an island really slip from your mind?” She chuckled and clapped once. This is so f*****g annoying. She is openly mocking me now when I am currently disciplining myself. How could a person turn from being an angel to a demon in just six godforsaken months?   “Then don’t tell me if you only intend to make fun of me.” I sighed and faked my indifference. I cannot swallow more pride as I have eaten them all already. I would not do anything to make her speak anymore. I just want to get the f**k out of here. “You’re still you; I shouldn’t have expected anything new.”   Kiken exhaled and clicked her tongue. “Fine, I will tell you what I know for the sake of…” Kiken paused and looked up, then grinned and looked back at me, “Nandemonai. You’re just no fun.” That’s uncalled for.   Akumu Danger, aka Kiken of code 0160, is a 24-year old past lover of mine who’s been working in THD for three years now. We were together a year ago, for six months and she just returned from Japan after her 50th Clandestine kill. She also undoubtedly sharpened her skills in there while doing her job for she’s grown a lot over the time. She can now turn herself into a monster I can barely recognize whenever she wants. And with all this information she’s providing me, I can no longer deny that she’s learned so much. She’s learned so much to an annoying extent.   “Where the f**k did you get that?” I asked as soon as she’s finished talking. Schatten? Assassins’ assassinators? THSD? What the f**k are these again? I crumpled my forehead while waiting for her response. She finished her glass of iced coffee first before turning her attention back to me.   “Akuma is a dealer for two years now, have you forgotten?” She was pertaining to her most irritating other self, Akuma Danger, her twin brother, who appeared in my condo just a week ago. “And he is not an ordinary dealer and information giver, like Mister Info.”   “Danger I is a THSD dealer, then?” I responded when I’ve had an idea and she nodded. What the f**k. I gasped unnoticeably when I’ve seen myself in far lower place than them two.   Akuma Danger, aka Danger I of code 0130, joined THD five years ago and Kiken entered as his apprentice after two years. Akuma is next to me when it comes to age of joining THD and Akumu is next to him. Our ages weren’t far from each other, so we used to discuss things about assassination before but what the f**k made them to grow this f*****g much?   Kiken laughed and clapped. She’s like a damn seal who claps randomly when excited or happy. That significant childish habit of her did not change at all.   “Akuma joined THSD because our father was killed by an assassin from THSD.” She said after calming herself down. I did not say anything and just waited for her to talk again. “You cannot join THSD unless a member signs you up and it’s a lifetime commitment.”   I remembered her father, Brian Danger, aka Danger of code 0038, who was killed in his 11 years of service. Everyone claimed it was an accident so no one cared about it anymore—until I’ve heard all of this. So Mister Danger was assassinated by an assassin from THSD? Why the hell is this thing so twisted? Am I the next one now? Someone actually took a deal of assassinating me? That is more of a bullshit dream than of reality.   “You know, Schattens, they are just common assassins of THD who desired to step up and kill their own kind instead of waiting for a normal client. As per Akuma’s information, Schattens get paid five times higher than what we usually receive. Do you have any idea how much is that, Rei-kun?” Her face lightened up, but not of happiness, but of psychotic ecstasy. I know that feeling—the feeling and excitement of imagining how much you can get from a client after a kill. Although she said that what we receive isn’t as much as those Schattens do, I can still f*****g recall the first time I was hired to kill for twenty million. That f*****g thrill and elation, I remember very well.
