Every step down the aisle brought her closer to her Dream man– Derek.
What was supposed to be an arranged marriage with a stranger had turned to a dream come true, her eyes rested on the man who she had loved since highschool.
"You look beautiful." He said and flashed her a beautiful smile as she stood next to him.
She blushed, hiding her face from his gaze. This could have easily turned to a nightmare, her family had met with an unexpected loss, the only way to salvage the situation was for her to be married off to a stranger.
She looked at her family from where they sat, all beaming with smiles, would It make her a horrible person if she thanked God for their loss?
"I'll be gentle with you." He whispered, his hands moving slowly against her skin.
Their first night together was bliss, he had assured her that he would make her feel safe.
But that was a year ago and today she was holding a picture of Derek with another woman.
"Are you sure about this?" She had asked ,tears streaming down her face.
This man had always been like this, how stupid was she to think he would change for her?
"Yes, I'm sorry Emilia." Her friend replied, pulling her into a hug.
She had confronted him after, he had denied of course.
Today as she packed her belongings back into the bags that her followed her to his place.
She turned to look at him for the last time.
"It'll take you a day or two, you'll definitely forget me." She said through her tears, unaware that the man she was leaving would burn down kingdoms to find her.
