Emilia's POV
"Yes, I was pregnant." I admitted.
"Emilia, how could you hide this away from me for this long? Why?"
I sat back on the chair and buried my head between my palm frustrated because somehow, everything I was trying to hide and protect had blown up in my face.
"I just wanted to protect my daughter."
"Our daughter you mean, from what exactly? I also wanted to be a Dad."
The hurt in his voice was evident, there was no way I was going to escape this one, I've never thought a day would come when I'll be having this conversation with Derek.
"I want to go home." I blurted out.
I could see the shock on his face, I didn't care, I was done for today and I needed somewhere far from him to think.
"Okay, I can drop you off." He offered.
"Don't push it."
I got home and immediately went to my room, not bothering to take off my work clothes, I laid down on my bed and cried.
I cried because I had wanted Alicia for myself, the tears were because I knew Derek would want to be active and I didn't know want chance I had with my wedding just two months away and Adonis? This would upset him.
"Mummy." I heard Alicia call my name.
I stood up and saw her standing at the door.
"What is it sweetie? Come."
I watched as she walked up to me and wrapped her little hands around me.
"I missed you." She said her voice breaking.
"Mummy is here, Sweetie." I said holding her close, the thought of him taking her away from me made me cry, I held my daughter closer and cried.
"Are you okay, mummy?" She asked cleaning my eyes.
"Listen sweetheart, we'll have to go and stay at Aunty Eva's for some time. There's no problem, I just miss your daddy so much and I really want us to have someone else around."
"Okay mummy" she nodded "I'll go pack up." She added and left my room.
I laid back down and heaved a sigh of relief, atleast at Eva's, it would be hard for Derek to come there since he doesn't know the place.
I still needed space from him and enough time to think, seeing him at the office was easier than seeing him everywhere.

"How are you feeling now?" Derek asked as I resumed work the next day.
"I'm fine."
"So I thought of something, why don't you and Alicia move closer to mine, it doesn't have to be my place, but somewhere I can see you both."
Was he dreaming?
"And why would you suggest such? What makes you think I'm not capable of taking care of my daughter? We were fine without you, not like you can do anything now."
"That was because you hid her from."
"If you were ever a good person, then there would have been no need to do that. Derek, my daughter and I are perfectly fine where we are."
I moved to my seat and placed my bag on the table, I was done with this conversation.
"Are you going to deny me a Chance of being involved in my Daughter's life? This is my right."
"Derek, I'm getting married soon, we'll talk about this then, for now, please leave us where we are."
"Maybe I should file for shared custody, you don't know the sick human you're getting married to and won't let my daughter get raised in that environment."
"What are you even talking about?"
"Adonis, do you know him that much? Do you know his a sick human, I investigated him since you didn't bother to and there's no–"
"Please Stop Derek, who are you to do such? You think everyone is like you? What's with you and stalking people, you think it's your right? You're a sick human, leave my family alone." I barked at him angrily.
"I'm trying to protect you and Alicia."
"Well, you've done enough, thank you." I said packing up my table. "If you don't have any work for, I'll take my leave."

"I don't think you should have told him the truth though." Eva said when I told her what happened between Derek and I at the office.
"I didn't have any choice, you know how he can be. Besides, he deserves to know, I didn't know how long I could keep that a secret." I said in frustration.
The whole thing was already taking a toll on me, messed up sleep schedule and having to face him everyday at work.
"I know you're having your perfect reunion with your Ex and all that but have you thought of Adonis? Do you ever think of how he would feel hearing all this?"
I knew I had messed up, I was suppose to carry him along, he had been the one taking care of Alicia with me, he deserved to know.
"I'll go call him." I said and left her for my room.
I waited for him to answer the call, every second had me tensed and anxious, while trying to solve my own problems, I had neglected what really mattered.
"Emilia." He called my name, my heart sank.
"Adonis, a lot has been happening." I said and broke down into tears.
"It's fine, we'll overcome this. I'm making plans for us to leave the country, we can have the wedding at the new location. You'll have to quit your job and get Alicia ready so we can leave."
We talked for a while and the call ended, his words had stirred up something in me, the plan to leave the country was too sudden and he didn't even let me tell him all that was going on.
Derek's words slowly slipped back into my mind, I did everything to shake it off but it made me even more suspicious.
I went outside to meet Eva but she was no longer in the room, I picked Alicia's teddy, it had gotten skinny a f I was going to talk to her about it when I felt something inside, like a metal.
Opening up the side pocket of the teddy, I put my hand inside, I felt a device or something like that.
I slowly pulled it out and gasped in shock, it was a voice recorder.
Someone had been monitoring me.
