In the school compound,Anny stood, talking to her friends who she hadn't seen for the past month but they ignored Aila because they didn't really like her. Aila stood in one corner and bit her lips hard to prevent herself from crying. “What did I do to deserve being treated like this?,In what way is Anny better than me except being rich?“She asked herself.
Then Leslie,one of the girls who fought earlier sighted her, moved closer to her and said in a gossip manner,”Why are you standing here all alone?“ Without waiting for Aila to reply,she snapped her fingers as though she remembered something and she added,”Oh,they don't seem to like you right”. Aila retorted and said,”Busy body,well done,but I don't think that's your business,and even then, Anny is my best friend and we have the whole time to talk and gist, so roll busy body”
“Okay, okay,I was only joking with you, don't take it too serious,I am leaving,bye”. Leslie left quickly and Aila glared at her back. Aila pulled up her skirt a bit and she rubbed the spot where she had pinched. “Sssss” The pain spread in her nerves and she cursed “those bitches”.
Just about right, the bell rung for assembling and students ran to the assembly ground to avoid getting punished for lateness. The students lined up properly according to their classes, they recited the country's anthem and their school anthem. They then pledged to be a better entity and a useful person for themselves and the society at large. Mr Martin welcomed the students after he got to the podium and he endeavoured seniors not to indulge in bad behaviours just because they were about to graduate. He also introduced the F3 to them as their alumnis and teachers who will teach them on the virtues of life. After this, the students sang their marching-in- song and each students to their department,they went.Anny and Aila were not in the same department so they bade themselves good bye.
Due to the fact that the school just resumed, they did some revisions to be able to recollect the subjects they had done before in their former classes. And so, the first period ended and the cycle continued until it was time for the short break recess. This short break recess was meant for eating and relaxation which was forty minutes break. Anny had always spend ten minutes for eating and thirty minutes for reading fictions in the library and this had been her ritual.
So this day also,she quickly finished eating and she thought of the novel she hadn't finished reading. “I have to get to the library fast so that I will be able to finish reading 'Met her soulmate'”
Then,she ran to the library where she met the librarian who exchanged pleasantries with her and asked her about how her holiday went.
