“You have to do this for me, Ormr.” Maximus said at last as the man in front of him sunk to his knees. “I know it's hard, I know. But I need you to do this for me, as my second, if I bring you in they will know, it’ll break the barrier.” Maximus sunk to his knees as he let Ormr cry out once more. “It won’t be long, I promise just a bit more is all I need.” This seemed to resonate with Ormr as the two looked at each other.
“They want me to take her,” he whispered. “Take her back to my home, and….” I could feel my heart pounding in my chest as I tried to make out his words, as I tried to understand the meaning.
“I’ll have you in the pack before then, before she commands you to do that.” Maximus told the broken man in front of him.
Ormr nodded, “promise?” he asked.
