The metallic scent of blood filled my snout, pulling me from my pleasant dream of my mother cooking in our kitchen. My stomach rumbled at the thought of food as I opened my eyes. The scent was thick in the air, but I couldn’t tell where it was coming from. Ormr was still nowhere in sight as I scrambled to my feet. My paws ached under the weight of me as I took a few steps towards the edge of the cliff. Ignoring the storm still lingering over the valley, I followed my nose. The scent seemed to be coming from above me. I didn’t know if it was Ormr’s blood I was smelling or something else.
