“Do I have to do it now?” I asked, as Maximus started to growl defensively at the she-wolf who won just moments ago. Nora nodded in response. I watched as the she-wolf lowered herself to the ground, her ears were pinned down as she tried to inch forward, but with each movement Maximus started to grow restless next to me, his growls started to turn into snaps as he lashed out. I wasn’t sure how I was going to say anything over him, but I placed my hand on his fur again, which seemed to calm him down almost instantly.
