“YOU SURE YOU’RE READY for this?” he asked as Katrina checked her reflection in the mirror.
She gave her peach sweater one last glance of approval. “I’m sure.”
“You promised to tell me if it makes you uncomfortable, remember?”
She nodded. “I’m fine.”
“Ok.” He took her hand, she took her violin case, and they made their way across the walk to join the members of Orchard Grove Bible Church for the annual Christmas Eve pageant and candlelight service.
Forty minutes later, pleasantries exchanged, prayers recited, and carols sung, Katrina stood from her seat in the front row and stepped up to the spot by the Christmas tree.
