XVII. Train of Thought A faint screech from outside the light rail hung overhead the passengers the entire ride, demanding its presence be felt and expected. Among the cart’s noises were the constant page flipping of a small child beside their mother and the whistling of an older man in the back corner of the train car. Osmond felt all the vibrations followed a single pattern symbolic of life’s chaotic passions. Andres and Inara sat in a booth seat together while Osmond slouched in a seat opposite of the two.
