Chapter 6: NECKLACE

862 Words
Olivia's POV Lucas walked in, and Emily and Sophia, those two bitches, smiled coyly up at him and quickly hid their fierce expressions to greet him. My father also smiled warmly and went to welcome Lucas properly. No one paid any attention to me. I stood there and looked at my father's smiling face, and laughed at myself. Since my mother's death, my father has never been so eager to greet me at the door again. I thought it was because of my mother's death that he didn't want to express his emotions anymore. But he would be kind to Emily every time she came home, asking her how her day was and if she was tired. He would gladly express his kindness to any werewolf who came to our Pack House, even a stranger he had never met before could feel his friendliness. But as his daughter, I have never felt the same from him. All I ever saw was his cold expression and disgusted eyes. Sophia smiled and looked at Lucas with flirtatious eyes. "Good morning, Alpha Lucas. Welcome. Is there anything you need us to deal with?" she asked warmly. Her sharp, affected voice sounded like it was soaked in a jar of honey, so sweet that it made me want to vomit. Sophia probably thought her voice was very sweet, but in fact, she sounded like a cat in heat. As Sophia spoke, she deliberately turned her head to me, bringing her gaze and anger back to focus on me, and asked tentatively, "Is your visit related to Olivia's absence from the engagement banquet last night by any chance?" As soon as she said this, my father's expression darkened suddenly. He looked across at me with a serious and cold expression, just like every other time that he had looked my way before. "It is kind of because of that," Lucas said with a polite smile. "But actually, there is another more important matter that I must deal with in person." Emily looked a little excited. She looked across at me with joy shining in her eyes but still tried to school her face into looking worried for me. "Did you also find out that she ran away from the engagement banquet last night and went to fool around with other werewolves? I'm sorry she did this. It's disrespectful to you." Lucas chuckled lightly. He seemed to understand something in that moment and did not immediately refute Emily's words or explain on my behalf. Instead, he just looked at me and smiled. "That is indeed the reason." I frowned and looked at Lucas in confusion, but he just gave me a smile in return. Emily saw my expression and became more excited. She exclaimed loudly, "So you are here now to divorce her, right!" "Emily," Sophia suddenly said. "Don't embarrass your sister like this." Although she said so, the sneer in her eyes was almost impossible to hide. "I'm sorry, Mom, but this is Olivia's own mistake," Emily gave me a sweet smile. "I just told the truth. Olivia said she was with Alpha Lucas last night, but I don't think that's the truth, right? Lying is not a good habit." "f**k!" I heard Aria's angry growl in my mind. "This false, two-faced b***h, I swear I will tear her throat out so that she can no longer speak!” I looked at them calmly and smiled, "Lying? No, I never do that, Emily. Only you do." Emily's smile disappeared from her face. "Are you accusing me now because your lies have been exposed, Olivia?" I still kept my smile and didn't bother to argue with her and waste my energy. But Emily thought I had given up. She sneered and said triumphantly, "Do I need to remind you again? Because of the ridiculous things you did, your engagement with Alpha Lucas has been canceled, and it's all because of what you did!" Lucas smiled as he watched the farce. He walked to my side and put his hand on my shoulder. "I think there must be some misunderstanding here. I never said that Olivia wasn't with me last night, nor did I say that I wanted to break off the engagement with her." Emily and Sophia's proud smiles froze on their faces. "Olivia, I didn't know that your father and stepmother, as well as your step-sister, treated you in this way. I'm sorry," Lucas's smile was gentle, but he exuded a terrifying pressure. "Although our engagement banquet was not completed, Olivia is still my fiancée. I do hope that at least now you will begin to show her more respect.” Under Lucas's powerful pressure, Emily and Sophia could only nod in panic. Their hands were shaking, and their eyes were full of fear and unwillingness. "Good." Lucas nodded as he took out a beautiful necklace and fixed his stare on me. "Let's solve another matter while I'm here.” I didn't say anything, just smiled calmly and met his gaze confidently, which only made Emily even angrier. "Olivia," Lucas smiled and handed the necklace to me. "You forgot this necklace in my car last night.”
