Sweet hands

2062 Words
Earlier I used to sleep late but as days went on, I started sleeping early. Stress became numerous and depression reduced. I started to notice a change that was not normal. In most of the times I could be thinking about her. When I was to revise physics I would revise her.   After supporting me to build the house, I would not be able to express my happiness. The love in her, I thought was great. I wondered whether to treat her like a parent or sister? She also liked music and in fact she could call me and sing a love song. Mostly she loved Malaika by Nyashiski. This reminded me of my mother who went early and my sister who met ruthless worlders.  It came to an extent that one day she invited me on a Sunday, to go and spend my day in their home. As I knew that her father was not harsh, I obeyed and anxiously longed for the day.  The day that was my first day ever, came. I called her as early as six in the morning. She said that just thirty minutes were enough to come for me. I wore smart after a double bathing and final rinse. The value that I gave her was great and so I kept time strictly.  I was on the tarmac road at 6.05 a.m. I wore a red pullover that matched well with red shirt and a white trouser trendy with white cap and white sports shoes. On my back I had a laptop bag that people said I was carrying a laptop. On my right hand I was holding a smart phone. I kept on wiping dust not to be deducted marks. Most of the people came to realize that I was changing from the previous Stephen to another. It seemed like an incarnation.  A boy who we schooled together came bouncing. His name was Lokipor Loyah. “Hi Stephen?” he greeted.  “Hi too” I replied.  “Wah! Where are you employed now because you like wow! I even admire you and your stylish clothes. I can see that you bought a laptop, smartphone and the way they are expensive! Give me the secret behind…” He suggested.  “I am not working but now I am using the wealth that my dad had. I am not a childlike before so I inherited everything” I told him feeling shy because I lost everything that dad had. Even a nail I didn’t inherit.  “Wah! I wish I had a rich family like that of yours, I could even buy a vehicle…” he turned to see a luxurious vehicle that as coming down the slight slope. “This car is smart can you afford such?” He asked pointing at it.  “It’s mine because the driver inside is my employee!” I answered him crossing the road to the right side. He was left staring as I entered under falcon doors. I waved my hand to him and left.  We turned back after entering Gatundia centre and drove up the hills. Soon we were at the famous hill of mile Saba approaching Nyahururu gradually. It was flying and had gravely silent. What I could hear was screaming air running backwards. The driver was too silent today.  This is when I looked above his head and I noticed a secret fixed camera. It made me mind my own business. Just after reaching town we drove meandering in the big flats. I thought we went around same buildings but soon it beeped and stopped suddenly.  He stretched his hand and pressed a button labeled ‘open’ just on the middle of the dash board. The gate slide upwards and opened. We drove in and steered right parking the car beside the others. When I got out, I was like ‘oh my God’ I saw wonders! Numbers of vehicles were parked in a line, like in the parliament; starting with a grey station wagon on the far left a blue was the second. Black saloon was third. The red sports car we had boarded previously. A blue box followed and finally a monster like path finder a vehicle that was like wow.  On turning back a semidetached house stared at me. Its windows reflected rainbow, its blue roof were beautiful like ocean waters. Splendor planned compound made me skip a heart-beat. A white pavement is made me seem dirty. I couldn’t believe my eyes. The man introduced himself to me as Edwin Nguiwan. He led me towards the house.  The front door was painted golden. Its mirrors were translucent and I could even see my image. We removed our shoes and left them there. We wore house slippers. He led me through the colorful corridor and then living room was there.  I was breathless when I was a very large flat screen television on the double-decked wall unit. Seven couch seats and two recliners were arranged in a U-shape. An mp3 player connected to the audio bank and a laptop was on a glass stable next to the wall-unit. An enormous speaker followed.  Cool light was all over that no shadow was seen. Tables at the centre were with beautiful and attractive roses on the pot plant. Beautiful pictures were on the white wall with that of animals on the floor.  A very long picture of Jesus was just near the window. The room was more than I expected only to turn up at the corner to see something that produced strange sound. It was a CCTV camera. I got astonished and looked down! I found myself alone in the room of wonders. Suddenly a black lady emerged from the door near the wall unit. She was tall and wore a blue apron. She was walking slowly but ecstatically and served me with a cup of tea.  “Welcome!” she welcomed warmly.  “Where is Lightness” I asked her stopping her from going back.  “She went for a shopping. I think she is on the way coming.”   “Who accompanied her?” “Boss” she answered and then left.  Just then she came in Lightness. I stood up to welcome her. I hugged her with smile only to pass my eyes behind her and see a gigantic man smiling.  He was huge compared with giant black with darkness in times off eclipse. Vest and slippers were wonders .Only his arm could be same with my chest.  She introduced me to him though I was intimidated. He was her beloved father. He was friendly as Nguiwan had said. I dropped my fear at once “Feel at home Stephen, here we love young people. You are at home,” He said patting my shoulders. I felt like it was my father. Soon we went around the compound with Lightness discussing our private issues, some applicable others inapplicable.  “I think your home is like wow,” I said in perplex.  “But I am used to everything and I don’t desire it, I usually admire your value than richness,” she suggested. “In my infancy I used to see it like inevitable things but since I discovered that somebody may die and leave them for others, I stopped valuing them.” She added.  “Then if not this, what do you value?”  “Just love and peace, life is then good.” She said looking at me pleasantly with hands on her back. I wondered why she behaved such but I couldn’t understand. I recalled the story of Nguiwan and I decided to ask her some questions regarding on it.   “How do you treat this man, who drives here called Nguiwan?”     She looked at me for moment and then the floor. “I treat him like just rubbish! He is one of the creatures that I call temptations. Some days ago he used to force me in his house when I refused he started to enter my bedroom. He is thirty seven years of age and he behaves like a baby born last night. From this experience I asked dad to give me a g*n to protect myself. He does not know but I can shoot him to death if he triggers with my body.” She said bitterly.  I got appalled and stopped, not because she mentioned the man but g*n! I only saw it in movies and sometimes with policemen but she had one. I feared it I felt faintly. I could not utter a word then.  Where did I come truly? Did I come to search for my death here? What if I die what will I die for? Does she truly love me? I had to make an applicable choice before the world turns blues. We were both staring at each other like statues.  “Okay…,” I said breathing exhaustively. “I am gone” I looked at her eyes directly. “Let me go! I can’t stay here please” I pleaded.  She laughed contemptuously and then stepped close to me. “Why go? Just because of a g*n? I can’t shoot you! I won’t let you go until you become used to me and know who I am…” She whispered. I felt like intricate, mostly because of her subtle facts. I gave up and joined her. I had to embrace all positive and negative behaviors that she had. As a result I held her delicate hands and promised her.  Suddenly her dad appeared, smiling again. He came and stood where we were. She slanted a look at him smiling.  “Stephen I understand you love my daughter very much. I am glad to have you here…!” He said walking around us with his eyes on the ground. “I may like to negotiate with you for some time because something said is not like that in mind. Here I have everything that you admire to get. Be it a big house, luxurious cars, great and numerous businesses, love is still found in plenty. I am not over inflating but my daughter can assure you.  After enjoying the day I need to get about forty to fifty minutes with you in absence of Lightness my beloved child. She can take you all around the compound then go and enjoy watching TV or play music. Feel free, stay free has a good time” He concluded.  “Thank you sir” I thanked him greeting him with honor.  “I am not sir but your dad” He said ignoring my words.  I became over headed with thoughts, wishes and admiration. I came to realize that there are some people who reached Canaan. When I was still dragging idol of the pharaoh others were just relaxing. I was still being eating pumpkins while others were eating honey and manna. I was living with horror while others enjoyed life with good things, best people and memorable moments. As he walked away, I discovered something strange. He had no legs from the knees he put artificial ones. This made him to walk slowly. I thanked God for my poverty but with good health.  Suddenly I heard some noise. It was the gate sliding open. Another monster X-trail vehicle drove in. It was then parked next to the others. A lady who was driving came out. She went to the boot and pulled out a wheel chair. She pushed it on the other side of the vehicle and parked it just next to the door. She opened the door and I got surprised!  A middle aged lady who was handicapped was lifted up and placed on the wheel chair. She was pushed towards the front door. I was left staring as she disappeared in the house. “That is my mother that is the way she is…” She said skies turning blues.  I soothed her with sweet words until she was happy again. She smiled again. I came to discover that this were some of the things that made her blues. She got everything that she need but her mother was always in pain.
