Chapter Six
Macey was almost glad when Mairi asked to be shown to her room to freshen up a little. As soon as her cousin was out of sight, Nessie entered the room, followed by all five of Macey's men. Luc immediately hurried to Macey, his eyes meeting hers.
"I'm sorry," he whispered. "I didn't handle that very well. Let's talk later, okay?"
She nodded and gave him a smile. Him apologising was a step in the right direction. Maybe he'd stood up to his mother after Macey had left. She was going to give him the benefit of the doubt.
They all sat down, with the guys hungrily demolishing the leftovers. Luckily, all of the chocolate treats had already been eaten by Macey. She hated sharing those. She snickered to herself. She was such a greedy kelpie. Five men and all the chocolate.
