Chapter 7 - Antonio, Madre and Padre
The next stop was Tarragona. When the train door opened, the bot lifted Nina onto the platform, released the binding from her wrists then returned to the train. Nina ran to the open arms of her parents and the trio embraced.
Silhouetted by a deep turquoise Mediterranean Sea and a vibrant blue sky, Ophelia found the family reunion idyllic except for the fact that Nina was not well. Leaping up and down, squealing and gripping her mother, she was behaving more like an excited canine reuniting with its owner than a woman who had suffered immeasurable trauma a few days earlier.
‘Calm down, Nina,’ her mother laughed.
Nina’s father approached Ophelia and offered his hand.
‘You must be Ophelia,’ he said. ‘Thank you for returning our Nina.’
