‘Yes.’ ‘How do you power the equipment in your factories?’ Ophelia asked. ‘Solar? Wind?’ ‘Fuel,’ Antonio replied. ‘You know our primary import is bottles of fresh drinking water, right?’ ‘Yes.’ ‘Well, the water comes in bio-plastic bottles that are supposed to break down in the soil, just like an old piece of fruit, but when they do, they release a lot of heat and some terrible gases which we use to fuel our factories, boats and road vehicles.’ ‘That’s similar to us,’ said Ophelia. ‘We use the oil from the seeds in the rapeseed flower to make fuel.’ ‘Perhaps we are not that different, after all,’ said Antonio. ‘People are people,’ Ophelia said. She removed her scarf from her head and dipped it into the sea. ‘What are you doing?’ Antonio asked. But Ophelia did not bother answering
