Every other person laughed. I have never felt so embarrassed. I was hurt that tears were about to fall from my eyes. I looked around for my purse and when I saw it, I picked it up. I left the party heading to God knows where. Tears rolled out of my eyes freely. The fact that he just won over me made my insides churn with anger.
I felt like there was nothing I could do. I felt like he had that power over me. He just embarrassed me right there as if nothing happened. How could he say such a thing to me? That bastard. Coming to this party was a bad idea from the start. I should have just stayed home and studied. Coming here was such a waste. I didn't benefit from anything.
