Chapter 14When I’d gotten home from work late at night, there’d been no contact from Miguel. When I woke up a little late the next morning, still nothing. Maybe he needed extra time. Then again, he’d never told me how much time he’d needed, just that he’d needed it. For all I knew, I wouldn’t hear from him until after New Year’s. There was no telling when, and I had to accept that. Work had been as busy as I’d thought, but it’d been a good distraction from Miguel. Waking up now with nothing else on my mind felt super shitty.
