CHAPTER 6 ~ CONTRACT OF DOOM

1370 Words
ANDREA'S POV I couldn't believe that Lola bluntly rejected my offer. Ladies would k*ll to be my wife for a day! I went after her when I came out of the shock of her outburst and I saw her get into a taxi. I got into my car and told my driver, who had pulled up to the driveway to go after her. I needed a contract wife as soon as possible, and I wouldn't let her go so easily. We kept following her, and I was surprised to see her stop at a police station. I watched her make her payment through her phone and step into the station. What was she doing here? Did she have a report to file? I just didn't get it. This wasn't good. I shouldn't be seen at a police station. If the press gets a hold of my pictures, it could cause a big mess for the Good Ventures, and I didn't want that at all. I placed a call to Harry and asked him to find out why Lola was at a police station. He called me back less than five minutes later and informed me that her mum was accused of stealing from her employer. Now I get why she left the hospital in such a hurry. It all made sense now! I sat in the car, waiting for her to get out, but after some time, I heard some noises from the station. What was going on? For some weird reason, I pushed off the fear of my pictures getting to the press or creating a mess for my company and stepped out of the car. My driver tried to advise me against going in, but I walked into the station. I saw two women and a man standing around a young lady and a woman who were kneeling on the ground in tears. They kept raining insults on them, and the police and some people stood there, doing little or nothing to help them. I took a closer look and was shocked to see Lola on the ground, holding unto an elderly woman. "What the hell is going on here?" I asked in anger, curving my fist into a ball. ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡ LOLA ERIKSON'S POV I looked up and saw Mr Andrea right in front of me. What was he doing here? Did he follow me here? "Who the f*ck do you think you are to interfere in matters that has nothing to do with you?" My mum's employer shouted and turned around. Her face went wild in shock when she saw him. Mr Andrea Peters! The only son of the richest man in the country of Canrany, CEO of the GOOD VENTURES, and the most wanted bachelor on earth! She had just sworn at him! Her legs quivered as she went on her knees before him. "I'm so sorry, Mr Andrea, I didn't know you were the one asking that amazing question. I would never have responded that way." My mum's employer begged on her knees as her minion tried to detach himself from her. "Mr Andrea, I'm not with her at all, I would never insult you. It's a great honour to meet you in person." The man spoke for the first time, getting a disgusted look from my mum's employer, and the other woman, who had joined her to beg Mr Andrea. "I repeat..what is going on here!" Mr Andrea asked again, and the women turned towards us, with a scornful look on their faces. "It's that thief and her daughter! She works as my cleaner. After all the love and care I've shown her, she paid me back by stealing my family's heirloom, which is worth about a hundred million dollars." My mum's employer lamented. "She has refused to confess and provide it. Please, Mr Andrea, you have to help me. She must have connived with her wretched daughter to steal and sell it, sir. Please help me teach them a lesson." My mum's employer pleaded with great conviction that Mr Andrea would punish us even more. What do I do now? I already yelled and pissed off Mr Andrea at the hospital. Now, there was no way he would show me Mercy right now. Mr Andrea walked up to me and thundered three words. "Come with me," he thundered and walked out of the station. I could feel everyone's eyes on me as I helped my mum have a seat and stepped out of the station. Mr Andrea was getting into his car, which was packed at a corner in front of the station, hidden between the police cars. I saw his driver quickly step out and head towards a corner beside the station. I got into the car, wondering what this was all about. "Lola Erikson, this is the last time I'm going to make this offer. Your response determines if you will get to receive my help or be denied of it. I need a contract wife as soon as possible, and I want you for the job. You must be willing and ready to do everything I say within the time range of our contract. In exchange, I will settle your mum's debt so that she can be set free and pay you an additional $100,000,000. So what's it gonna be? Do you want to sign the contract right now?" Mr Andrea asked, and I stared at him in disbelief. Why me? Why would he want someone like me to be his wife, even as a contract. It just didn't make sense. Many women would agree to his offer, even without receiving a dime. Was he up to something more? "Why me? Why did you choose me to do this?" I asked, and he chuckled slightly. "That's something I can't give you an answer to. Are you in or not, I have things to do." He said sternly. "Your mum must be waiting for you in there. If you don't have a hundred million dollars, I suggest you think fast before my offer is withdrawn." He said, and I thought about my mum. All evidence was pointed towards her, and even if she didn't do it, I don't have the resources to help her or get her a good lawyer. Mr Andrea's offer looked like the only hope I had to get my mum out of this mess. "Can I go through the contract?" I asked, and he smirked. "It's a very long contract. The longer you spend going through it, the more trouble your mum could be in. Just sign your signature, and I will take it up from here. I sighed in defeat as the contract was given to me. I tried going through it, but my sight was a little blurry, and I could barely see what was written on the first page. It seems the drugs I was given at the hospital were taking their toll on me. I had stressed myself out, and I felt emotionally drained. "Where do I sign?" I asked, and Mr Andrea pointed the various areas, handing me a pen. I signed the documents, and we stepped out of the car. I had never imagined in my young life that I would get married to someone I had met barely 24 hours ago. It wasn't even a normal marriage, and I felt there was more to come! I sighed in defeat, but I felt a great sense of peace, knowing that my mum was going to be free. I don't know how he's going to settle everything, but knowing his status, I didn't have to worry. ◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◆◇◇◆◇◇◇◇◇◇◆◇◆◇◇◇◇◇◇◇ "Margaret Elliott, you run a charity scam, don't you?" Mr Andrea shouted the moment we walked to the counter area. The officers looked up immediately in shock, and I knew things were about to get messy for Margaret Elliott, my mum's boss.
