“Let me out of here now!” I screamed as I tried to open the car door even as it was on the move.
Kurt struggled to contain my craziness as he dragged me away from the car door. I successfully yanked the door open amidst our driver swerving the vehicle left and right in confusion.
“Sara, stop that!” Kurt gnarled, struggling with me as I tried to jump off the moving car.
“Are you crazy? You are going to get us into an accident”
“I will explain everything to you”
“Just relax and listen to me”
Kurt eventually got the door closed as I took a deep breath even though I was still horrified. Kurt held me by the arm to contain me and make sure I don’t try another stunt.
In all truthfulness, I had never been that scared. Even Ilkay’s sudden appearance didn't scare me as much as this. Many questions were going through my mind all at once.
“I am not an impostor or any thing of that sort”
“Listen, my parents and yours,” he said, releasing his grip on me a little bit.
“I mean your real parents”
“They were very close friends and business allies with my father, Downey Richmond”
“Before your parents died in that accident, there was already an agreement that either you or your twin sister would get married to me”
“It was always going to happen. The agreement was to strengthen our company and give it a uniform brand name.”
“Believe me, you are just as entitled to my father’s properties as I am since we are now married. Everything I own belongs to you as well”
Kurt finally released his grip seeing that I was now calm.
“Why didn't you tell me about all these before now though?” I questioned.
“You knew about all these before coming into my life and telling me all those lies you said”
“Do you even love me or you just wanted me for the sake of fulfilling an arranged marriage?” I covered my head in my palm as I was overwhelmed. I didn't want tears to come out again. I was tired of everything.
“Hey, hey, darling”
“I love you, there is no doubt about that.”
“I don't want you to think otherwise even for a second. Let's not get things ugly babe.”
“It's even much better now that I can tell you more about my father and our company.”
“I had to hide these things from you before, but now, you can be more involved in these things”
Kurt's words calmed my nerves. I started to see things from a brighter perspective. ‘Actually, life is much better now,’ I thought. ‘I already have a baby for him. He’s much richer than he made himself to be when I met him. Life couldn't be any better right?’
*******
Our baby was 4 months old. I had met with Kurt’s father, Downey Richmond, and he welcomed me with open arms. The Richmond family is actually quite nice. I wish my parents lived long enough to witness me being married to the first son of their family.
I and Kurt agreed to name our baby after my real father, Tristan. Everything was going well in my marriage with Kurt except for the constant business travels which sometimes left me lonely.
I was breastfeeding my baby when I heard the sound of the door pushed open. Kurt bursted in with annoyance. His face was reddened and his jaws clenched in anger. I could tell that something was wrong.
“You came back early? What is it?” I asked.
Kurt threw a paper at me in annoyance.
“Take a look at that,” Kurt gnarled, hitting his feet on the ground repeatedly before punching the wooden furniture I was sitting on. I quickly scampered in fear and adjusted my baby, who started crying, to a good position.
My hands were shaking as I picked up the paper from the ground and took a quick glance at Kurt’s terrific gaze before reading the content of the document.
The heading of the document read ‘medical test report’. I couldn't believe what I was reading. ‘A paternity test saying that Kurt is not the father of our baby?’ I thought as I went through the document carefully.
“Darling, where did you get this from?” I asked curiously.
“What do you mean by where I got this from?” he yelled.
“Do you think I will suspend my business trip and come here if this was just a mere joke?”
Kurt’s eyes were vicious. He jammed his teeth and punched the wall this time around.
“You b***h?”
“So you have the guts to give me a bastard child?”
“Kurt, what are you talking about, where did you find….” Before I could complete my words, Kurt dragged me up and pinned me to the wall amidst wild tears from Tristan.
“Tell me, who is the i***t you have been sleeping with?” He probed.
“Something is wrong somewhere,” I said faintly as Kurt choked me.
“What is wrong ehh? The only thing that is wrong is thinking marrying you would be good for me”
“No wonder your parents died before you got to know them because you would have killed them anyway”
Kurt’s words hit me badly. It was as if he had hit a spot that should never have been touched.
“Now, take this bastard with you and go to my father’s house,” Kurt yelled.
“Left to me, I would have divorced you this very moment but since we are actually arranged to get married, I would leave the final say to my dad”
“Get out you p********e!” he screamed.
I quickly took the next available taxi and went to Downey Richmond’s mansion with my baby. The security gave me access and there was Mr. Richmond sat comfortably with his legs crossed.
I had been introduced to him a few times since the saga at my wedding so I knew that he was a very wealthy billionaire that people served.
I knelt down before him with my innocent baby and started begging, “Please Sir, don't allow this to happen to me”
“You mean you have the guts to bring a bastard to my house,” Mr. Richmond yelled.
“Seeing this w***e irritates me, guards chase her out of here. I wonder why I even allowed her in the first place,” he pointed towards the guards, giving them a go-ahead.
Mr. Richmond’s men didn't even show compassion on me or my crying baby as they held my arms and shoved me. I still struggled with them despite looking much smaller compared to the hefty men.
“My baby, careful with my baby please,” I begged the hefty guards, amidst Tristan’s loud cry.
Mr. Richmond gave his men an eye signal to reduce their pressure so I went back on my knees.
“Sir, the medical report is fake,” I cried.
“I don't know where it was gotten from”
“Tristan is Kurt’s son, please. I would be doomed if I were to be banished”
“Where would I go? I don't deserve this, my baby would not……”
As the tears were streaming out of my eyes, I was distracted by a female figure coming down the stairs of Raymond’s mansion. ‘This figure looks familiar,’ I thought.
I stopped my wailing for a moment until I could see who was behind the walking shadow and there it was!
“Hello darling, it's your twin sister, remember me?” she said, an evil smile forming on her face as she caressed her baby bump.
