Chapter Nine Dinner Date Jessica walked across the room with her captor, boot soles scuffing on the concrete floor, his grip firm on her arm. She was weary to the bone, and her wrists ached as she tugged unconsciously at their tight cuffs, but she couldn’t help but feel good about the promise of food to come. Her stomach rumbled in anticipation of the meal. She couldn’t remember how long it had been since she’d last eaten.
