Mia's pov

827 Words
"What have you done, you stupid girl?" he yelled, grasping my hair and pulling me out of the room. I stumbled, confused, as he dragged me through the corridors. "What are you talking about?" I pleaded, trying to pry his fingers loose. But he wouldn't listen, hurling insults at me instead. "You're always causing trouble, always bringing shame to our family!" he spat, his grip tightening. I screamed, trying to break free, but he pulled me deeper into the pack until we reached the training grounds. The entire pack was gathered, their faces of accusation and curiosity. I saw my father, his eyes emotionless as always. Cassie was crying, and Jack was comforting her, his eyes locked on mine with a mixture of anger and disgust. The alpha sat atop a raised platform, watching me with an unreadable expression. I felt like I was drowning in a sea of hostility. "What's going on?" I begged, but no one answered. Suddenly, The alpha's voice boomed, "Mia, you're accused of poisoning Cassie. Is this true?" I shook my head, confusion and fear swirling inside me. "No, that's not true!" But Cassie's tears and Jack's angry gaze made me doubt myself. Had I done something wrong? Andrew’s grip on my hair tightened. "Don't lie, Mia. Jack saw you." I scanned the crowd, searching for a friendly face, but found none. Even my own family seemed against me. Andrew dragged me forward, and I stumbled my heart racing. The pack began to close in, their eyes cold and unforgiving. I spotted Jack, his expression twisted in disgust. "You're a monster, Mia," he spat. I felt a stinging sensation as if his words had physically hurt me. Monster? How could he say that? The alpha raised his hand, silencing the murmurs. "Take her to the holding cell. We'll investigate this further." The pack warriors pulled me away, and I stumbled, my eyes scanning the crowd for any sign of support. But I was alone, completely alone. As they dragged me away, I caught a glimpse of my father's expressionless face. No support, no concern. Just a blank stare. The holding cell was a dark, damp room deep in the pack's underground quarters. They tossed me in, slamming the door shut behind me. I collapsed onto the cold stone floor, my mind reeling. How had everything fallen apart so quickly? Well, it has always been apart I just chose not to see it. I thought of Jack's words, "You're a monster, Mia." Tears pricked at the corners of my eyes. Was that really what he thought of me? The darkness surrounded me, and I felt a wave of sadness. Was I alone? I sat in the cold, dark cell, my mind reeling with confusion and anger. I had been accused of poisoning Cassie, and now I was being held captive, awaiting the alpha's judgment. Just as I was starting to lose hope, the door to the cell creaked open, and Cassie herself walked in. My eyes widened in shock as Cassie approached me, a smug look on her face. "Cassie, what's going on?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady. "I didn't poison you. What are they talking about?" Cassie's expression turned ugly, and she sneered at me. "b***h, shut up," she spat. "You dare to talk back to me? You're going to regret ever crossing me." Cassie scoffed and turned to leave. "You think you can just waltz in here and steal Jake's affections because he is your mate? He's mine, and mine only. You're just a pathetic little b***h who can't even begin to compete with me." Just as I thought things couldn't get worse, I heard the sound of footsteps outside my cell. The door creaked open, and a figure stepped inside, The alpha entered, his expression grave. "Mia, I've received new evidence," he said. "It seems that Jack has come forward with a witness who places you at the scene of the attack." My heart sank. What witness? And what attack? But before I could ask any questions, the alpha dropped a bombshell... Mia, I'm afraid you're not only accused of attacking Cassie... but also of being a threat to the entire pack." I felt a chill run down my spine. What was going on? My eyes widened in shock. "That's not true!" I protested. "Cassie's been pretending to be poisoned, and she's framing me for it!" The alpha's expression turned skeptical. "I'm afraid the evidence against you is mounting, Mia. I'll need to investigate further before I can make any decisions." I felt a cold dread creeping up my spine. I knew I was innocent, but it seemed like no one believed me. The alpha's expression turned stern. "You'll face the pack's judgment tomorrow. Be prepared, you'll need to prove your innocence. Until then, you're under pack arrest." I felt a surge of panic as the alpha's words sank in. Pack arrest? What did that even mean?
