Tamara I sat across the small wooden table from my mother. The silence stretched between us, heavy with all the unsaid words, until the dam finally broke and the entire truth spilled out of me. "I want to give up on him, Mom," I whispered, my voice cracking as the first hot tear slipped down my cheek. "I really do. One minute he treats me like I am his whole world, and the next minute he treats me like a stranger or a nuisance. He is so hot and cold with me that I feel like I am losing my mind, and Earth is going to have to leave me here. In a place where I have almost no one to call my friend, because everybody hates me."
