LEAH's POV. "So what did the girl say?" Hazel's voice sucked me out of my thoughts. My eyes had been fixed on the cuts on my inner wrists as my mind kept replaying the incident over and over. The dark locker-room, the flash of silver eyes in the dark. The low growling—it all came back to me in haunting flashbacks. My mind pulsed with a hundred questions. I finally looked up at Hazel after we'd snuck out the back of Ashwood's local movie theater where we worked as cashiers. We usually clocked in for evening shifts after school at least three times a week. Since my dad didn't have a job besides his farm, I had to find a way to put food on our table and make ends meet. And Hazel, she just worked here for the free movie screenings and because I'd practically forced her to for company. S
