HARDIN's POV. I carried Leah in my arms, laying her gently across the old couch that sat beneath the window. Her eyes were closed but she still heaved in slow, uneven breaths. This was usually the first stage after a bite. I wondered how long she'd be unconscious for, how long until she turned and how long until my nightmare manifested into reality.
