The days after that night seemed to intertwine. Slipping in and out of school back to the Safe Place seemed like a chore. I began to ask myself how much longer I could keep hiding away from the humans with so much at stake.
And so many people hunting after us.
It had been days since I spoke to Leah, days since she found out the truth. Days that felt like longer. Every time I saw her in the school hallway, it took everything to restrain my wolf.
Seeing my Mate meters away from me but not being able to reach her was beyond torture. Even worse was when she wasn't even in sight, still she was all I could think about.
Wednesday, I skipped school.
