THE SHADOW THAT FOLLOWS
The air shifted instantly, thickening with something unseen. The hairs on the back of my neck stood on end as I felt a presence lurking just beyond the treeline.
Ethan moved in front of me without hesitation, his hand already gripping the hilt of his blade. Gabriel and Marissa flanked us, their bodies tense, ready.
