The walk back to the pack house was silent, tension thick in the air. Gabriel and Marissa were still on high alert, their hands never straying far from their weapons. Ethan stayed close to me, his jaw clenched, his anger barely contained.
But me? My mind was spinning.

The stranger’s words clung to me, wrapping around my thoughts like vines I couldn’t untangle. And the worst part? I felt like they were right.
The Heart of the Moon pulsed steadily within me, but now, there was something else just beneath the surface, as if a locked door had been opened inside me and I was only now realizing it had been there all along.
