WHISPERS INSIDE THE DARK
The days following our latest victory were packed with a combination of comfort and anticipation. We had managed to keep off Landon’s forces all over again, however, the threat became some distance from over. The pack House buzzed with activity as we reinforced our defenses and tended to the wounded. There became a sense of cohesion and backbone amongst us, but the shadow of Landon’s subsequent flow loomed over us all.
One evening, because the solar dipped underneath the horizon and the sky grew to become a deep shade of purple, Ethan and I took a walk through the woodland. The air became cool, and the sounds of nature surrounded us, creating an experience of tranquility that became a welcome respite from the tension of the past days.
