THE BURDEN OF LEADERSHIP
The weight of my new title settled over me like a second skin. I had fought for it, claimed it, earned it but that didn’t mean the battle was over.
It was only just beginning.
Ethan and I stood at the edge of the clearing as the pack slowly dispersed, murmuring amongst themselves. Some were still wary, still uncertain. Others had fully accepted what had happened, bowing in acknowledgment before heading back to their duties.
I exhaled slowly, trying to feel the shift, to understand what it meant to be Luna in a pack that had once doubted me.
