Chapter 6 The knock on Rob’s bedroom door came sharp and staccato against the quiet stillness of the morning. Rob looked up from his tablet, curled up at the head of the bed. “Come in,” he called. Anya slid into the room and stood by the bed, arms folded. “You’re late.” Rob raised an eyebrow? “Late for what?” “Work.” That was news. It was the end of Rob’s first full week at the beach house, and there’d been no talk of work. After his conversation with Alex, he’d asked Jack about earning his keep during his stay, but Jack had merely laughed and told him not to worry.
