Chapter Five
Lysander
My eyes opened to the really strong smell of Aria. She was next to me with a really fresh mark on her neck. The last thing I remembered was the thunder roaring angrily, everything went pitch black after that.
“What the f*ck? Why do you smell like me? And why are you f*cking everywhere in my head?” I asked, standing up with so much force that she almost lost her footing with how close she was to me.
Her weak eyes were what I met in response. I was so angry and confused that I didn’t even pay attention to the little blood to tickling down her neck or the mark on her neck.
Where’s Aurora by the way? And why am I here with Aria? Then why do i feel so drawn to her? It’s almost like it’s another person completely before me.
It felt like I was staring into the eyes of another person and not just Aria. The mate bond that almost wasn’t there before was now very strong. Then I felt it, her presence in my head.
What exactly is going on with me? I’ve never been this confused my whole life, and Aria just stared at me as though she was about to pass out.
My beast stirred in my head. Even he had gone on a slumber or something and he was just waking up. “Your mark is on her. You marked her, Lysander. She’s officially our mate now!” He danced around in my head.
I was confused at first, but just like a movie, everything started playing in my head. I was about to mark Aurora when an angry thunder striked and I found myself in the little room that harbored Aria, sinking my teeth into her neck
But wait, what? I marked her? I just accepted a human as my mate then? F*ck! This is really going to spoil a lot of things for me, for this kingdom too.
Someone falling towards my feet brought me back to reality, Aria’s scent wafted into my nostrils as she fell atop me.
Nox, My beast started running around in my head. He was so happy that she was this close to us. I’ve never smelt anything so comforting and good, my brain went into overdrive for a while, it was just numb.
Her body was so light and weightless atop me, I could almost not feel her at all. Her scent felt so good that I didn’t get myself, neither did I notice that she had passed out.
“She’s unconscious, Lysander! You need to get her to the hospital now!” Nox yelled in my head.
Then I looked at her to see that her eyes were really tightly shut, her heart race was even barely there. She looked really weak even while unconscious.
My heart started racing really wildly, it was as though my entire world was crashing down on me. I picked her up and ran straight out of the maids quarters.
I didn’t even know when I got to the infirmary, neither did I hear it when the doctor told me to drop her fully on the bed and move aside. All that was in my head was her being conscious again, it felt like my own life was on the line.
Nox had to step in, being the sane person here as he told me that I had to move back for her to be checked.
With my mind still heavy, I moved back and allowed the doctor have access to her.
My head was blank the whole time the doctor was on her, it was just like another part of me had been cut off. I didn’t have access to it, neither was I complete without it. The mate bond is that sacred.
I’m nothing without Aria now and she’s also nothing without me.
“Your majesty, we have managed to stabilize her. She’ll be awake anytime soon.” The doctor said, interrupting my thoughts.
“Just let me know if anything comes up again.” I told her, walking towards the door.
“But y-your majesty. It’s better if you stay with her, she’ll be fine in no time if she feels your presence.” She said, her head bowed.
“Do you love your job?” She nodded vigorously at that question.
“Then do whatever you can to make her fine, I’m not staying here.” I walked right out, but just before the door could close on its own, I was pulled back by a magnetic force.
I found myself walking right back into the room, I walked towards the bed where Aria laid. When I got really close, she turned on the bed and faced my direction.
“If you can’t stay with her, I’ll advise that you drop a piece of your clothing on the bed beside her.” The doctor said.
I dipped my hand in my pockets and took out my handkerchief, dropping it on the bed beside her. She inched towards it subconsciously and inhaled deeply.
“That’s a progress, she’s breathing normally now. She’ll be fine in no time.” The doctor said.
“I’m out of here.” I said, walking out even though every bit of me wanted to go back there and stay with her.
I went straight to the backyard, peeled my clothes and ran right into the bush. I shifted into my wolf and ran till it was night then I went back to the palace where I was bombarded with questions by Aurora.
“What’s going to happen now? You’ve marked her! Everyone sees her as the queen now. No one even respects me anymore.” She sobbed.
The moment, I sank my teeth into Aria, everyone connected to the lycan kingdom knew a Queen had been made. Surely, rumors wound have spread that it was a human and not Aurora again.
“I’ll take care of it.” Was all I told her before walking away. I’m not in the mood for her ramblings and questions right now. I just really want to have a conversation with the moon goddess.
Who the f*ck writes one’s fate like that? Aria can not be my Queen.
