Lysander
“Your majesty, they won't budge at all. The man in charge of the land said it was passed down by his grandparents so he can't let go of it.”
My jaw clenched at the response, I really hate it when I don't get what I want. I do not particularly like it when people provoke me to the extent that I'll have to kill them, even though I enjoy doing that.
"You know what to do, take it by force from them. Those humans are so annoying, they won't learn their lessons at all.” I told him, urging him to talk about other things.
“That's all, your majesty. I'll be leaving now." He bowed and left, leaving me alone with just my guards and Aurora, my betrothed.
“Are you really not going to do anything to those humans permanently? We're superior to them and it's high time we show it." She said,
"What do you want, Aurora? I thought I gave you the money you asked for this morning.” I asked her.
I don't know why, but it feels wrong when I discuss the kingdom matters with her. I know that's basically pointless since she'll be my Queen soonest, but it still feels so wrong.
"Yeah, thank you for that. I missed you already and I thought I'd come to see you.” Her voice switched to a very seductive one and I just knew what she wanted immediately.
“I'm busy right now, Aurora." I told her simply, but instead she moved closer to me, about to start running her hands down my body when I let out a growl.
Though low, she immediately moved back and was forced to bow to me in respect. She should know that I hate disobedience by now, regardless of who she thinks she is to me.
“I'm very sorry, your majesty." She bowed, shaking on her knees. I had only let out a little bit of my royal aura and she's this way.
"Leave now.” I ordered her and she rushed towards the door. She was almost pushed away with how someone else pushed the door open from outside. My guards immediately stopped whoever that was, stopping them from getting to me.
"Your majesty, they want to expose us. Some humans found out that werewolves do exist and they're already very close to getting here, their government officials are in on this too!" He yelled.
I sat upright on my seat, not so shocked but he caught me by surprise.
“Let him go." I ordered my guards and they did just that, he went straight to the ground.“Now speak."
"I was sent by your second in command to tell you this, he has been taken and they're about to get him under some experiments. They've taken him!”
“Rowan!" I growled so loudly, “Get the warriors ready! We're going on a feast tonight." I growled, standing at my full height. Everyone around me cowered away in fear. Anger overtook my entire senses and body.
My second in command is really powerful, we've both been practicing since we were kids. It'd take hundreds, if not thousands of human soldiers to take one of us down. I immediately knew that he must have been so overpowered for them to be able to capture him.
Those humans just won't learn, tonight will put an end to every stupid thing they have been up to. We are taking over their lands and the people in it. Now is the time.
Werewolves have been in existence for thousands of years, way before them. And when humans started coming to light, werewolves decided to hide. But that ends today, they should be the ones hiding from us and not the other way round.
All plans have been in place for this before, I have everything planned out and I already made sure my warriors were more than ready for this. All everyone has been waiting for is the go ahead from me.
“We're ready to proceed, your highness." Rowan told me as I got to where they were all assembled.
"Do not leave until I tell you to, I'm going to get Kael." I ordered him.
I need to get Keal first before we destroy anything. And I'd be damned if they start that stupid research on him before I get there.
I took my two best warriors and went right ahead. This will be the first fight I'll be embarking on in months. It's mostly always my men doing the work. But I need to do this to make it fast. I arrived there in no time, fighting every hindrance in my way; people, doors and whatnots.
“You came." Kael said as soon as he saw me. He was already laid on a table to be examined. I loosened him and teleported with him, trusting the other two to find their way out. Kael is too weak to walk.
“You can proceed now." I mind linked Rowan, permitting them to go into the cities and shut down the human system.
~
“They're here, your highness. We've eliminated all their government and locked down their lands. We've not been able to bring every one of them here though. They're quite many.” Rowan mind linked me at night.
“Let me know when they're all here. Well-done." I mind linked him back.
He mind linked me again early in the morning to let me know that they were all here. I couldn't sleep when I had most of my men on such a big errand. But hearing that it was all successful made me calm down a bit.
I told Rowan to schedule a meeting with a larger percentage of them in the evening. I need to at least show up physically to let them know that it's no jokes here.
The day ticked by so fast and it was almost evening. I was rounding up with some alphas when Aurora came in. She has a sullen expression on her face.
The last alpha walked out right after she came in, leaving us alone.
“What's it this time?" I asked. She's the only female I still tolerate around here, and even my tolerance with her has a limit.
“One of my friends found her mate today, leaving only me in our group without a mate yet." She sighed.
“And?"
“When are we getting mated, Lysander? Do you not want me to be your Queen anymore? I've practiced and prepared all my life for this and it's like you don't want me again. The kingdom needs a Queen. And I want to be mated too.” She said,
“We'll do that when I want us to.” I answered vaguely.
"But when would that be? I rejected my mate for you, what's stopping us from proceeding?” She asked exasperated.
"I'm not having this conversation with you, I have a meeting I'm meant to be at.” I stood up and walked towards the door, leaving her alone there.
Truth is, I don't think I want to be mated to anyone right now. I'm good with leading the kingdom on my own. I don't need anyone else to join me in doing that, nor do I want to be committed to anyone.
“I don't like Aurora." My beast said in my head. He doesn't fail to tell me that each time. He wants his own mate which isn't possible, the moon goddess cursed me to die without a mate.
I was led to the hall where the humans were waiting for me. My brows ceased when my breast suddenly stirred in me. He started pacing up and down, he was suddenly excited.
Then when I stepped into the room, I was hit with the most delicious scent ever, a woody scent mixed with the smell of after rain. That's the mixture of my two favorite scents.
My beast began murmuring something so fast that I couldn't catch it. Everyone in the room bowed to me, except one person. My eyes clashed with hers then my beast’s words became clear.
“Mate! Mate! Mate! Mate!”
A human mate?
