Dakota’s P.O.V.
“I love you too, Shea.”
Those words flowed out of my mouth. I didn’t need to ponder it. I love Shea with my entire heart, no denying it. She is my best friend, the one I can tell her everything, and the one that loves me for being me. That’s where it gets complicated, though. A few weeks ago, the significance behind those words could be different.
For now, it’s a love shared between two very close friends, love on the edge of becoming something else but can’t. We embraced each other forever, neither attempting to move away from the other. We both withdraw at the same time.
I reached over, grabbing her hand, “How are you doing?”
“I think I cried it out. No need to waste any more tears on that bastard,” she replied.
“Good, because he does not deserve your tears,” I said
