Tessa’s POV
I watched him close the distance between us, his steps slow and deliberate. Panic tangled with a raw, nervous heat in my chest. What was he doing? The world outside was literally tearing our names apart, accusing us of things we never did, and here he was, cornering me in a quiet hospital room.
“If I tell you what I want from you…” He paused, his dark eyes locking onto mine with an intensity that made me look away out of sheer instinct. “...Will you be able to give it to me?”
